hang clean in full squat

82.5kgx3x5

All good, happy with these!

front squat

115kgx4x3
125kgx2x3 felt a bit heavy, no failure, arse on calves type of thing.

Shouldnt have done this in second position, i was a bit anxious about not being able to complete my sets.

1 jerk on tip toes no jump + 1 power jerk + 1 split

70kgx5
Light stuff because legs were fooked by then. Squats come in last!

muscle snatch from hips?! and Goodmornings

30kgx8x4
40kgx8x4 for the GM's

Not too sure about how to call this exercice. You stand still, bar at arms lenght/hips and pull from there without any leg drive.
Stretched then left.

To whom it may concern, that is to say whoever reads this log.

I'm being slightly pissed and bored with training these days. I havent talked to the coach about it yet, but i'm seriously considering dropping out with olympic lifting. Nothing pleases me anymore, i find it hard to take pleasure which is a shame since i'm progressing. I dont know what will happen, to be honest i'm even tired of the gym, lifters, coach, training.....Maybe i'll get back at tracks and fields or just fooking tele, i dont know....

Anyway.

06/08

1 power clean + 2 split jerksx2x5

Up to 80kgx2
87kgx2x4
90kgx2

This kind of thing i still enjoy because i find it intense and challenging, if you get my drift...

clean grip pull (slow neg.5sec)

fcuk it!

bent over bb rows

fcuk it twice!

standing bb press (40kg to 30kg)

Dropped weight a bit so as to keep on getting 8 reps out of each set.

4x8

dips

bwx6x4

core work and back extensions

stretching

cheers

You have made a lot of good progress and it would be a shame to give it up, but if your hearts not in it then bin it.

Obviously it's up to you to do what you're going to enjoy, coz it's for damned sure there's no point otherwise. I would kill to be able to do what you do - I thoroughly subscribe to the Adlington motto "Olympic lifters do it because they can, powerlifters don't because they can't". Why not do what Andy does and have the winter powerlifting when it's hard to move fast, and the summer olympic lifting when it's different and fun?

When you're pissed off with it all mate it can often be for very simple reasons. Maybe a change of venue, coach, training style, training partners? I'm lucky in that I'm welcome at a few OL gyms in the greater area, and sometimes just 1 workout in a different environment can set things off again.

You're not short of the spark JC, just the fuel. A change is as good as a rest mate.

Feel free to mail me if you dont come unstuck soon.

hi Mish,
sorry to hear the desire isn't really there at the minute. Training is all about highs and lows though isn't it?

On another subject, what about doing a powerlifting comp for a change? I'm going to do one next year I think, if I can find something over here.

The only link I can find at the minute is this, although it doesn't have any comp links. Have a look and let me know what you think.

Talked with coach A today. Told him i'm bored and tired that i'm loosing weight and get angry with anyone for almost no reason. He said he noticed, yeah right... He also said i should not come for a week that maybe i should try some swimming, trekking or riding bicycle. I really hate sport, it's just lifting weight i like or used to like. Anyway, he was pretty cool about it, my take is that he didnt get my point, or is it that he just tried to ignore it!? I know he knows better than i, that my case is pretty crystal to him, i just hope he's right, i trust him. I was surprised at how much nicer he was than usual despite the news i just told him, he was like a grandmother, telling me to get plenty of rest, that this sport is hard even if we seem to get used to it....

Maybe you are just a bit tired and run down from all the training you do, that might explain the lack of motivation and getting angry, why dont you have a week off training, then after that you'll be raring to go again.

I've been trying to find another gym on the side these days, so as to practice on my own in another context, new lifters, new surrounding and perhaps women, they are no woman to be seen where i usually train which is a tremendous shame i believe. I'm completly amazed at the fees ive been asked to pay down there, from 5 to 12€ a session!!?
Sounds a bit expensive to me. No platform to be found, no bumpers, no olympic bars, what the hell! Is it like that in the real world? I even came across one gym which policy was not to allow ANY kind of over head pressing/lifting, sounds a bit mad to me. Absolutely not lemon fresh!!!

There was this one where i would have had to train my first session under the personal trainer control. The guy is a complete joke, he asked me how much i could bench, i said i dont bench. He was completly shocked, telling me i'm going all wrong. He showed me his home made training plan which was mostly about triceps, biceps and grand pectoral. It still makes me laugh to tears, the 'no trap no legs personal trainer' does know a lot in deed. I cant figure how this guy succeded in being employed, fcuking up everyone's training.

Anyway, i decided i'll have a break, not too long though, i already miss lifting somehow. I'll be going to the tracks instead, sprinting. I'll see how i feel next monday, it will be 5 days since i'm off by then.

Cheers for your support and sharing your experience lads.
