Hello
Has anyone found my medicine ball I left it at the front door on Wednesday night?

Plus I watched Match of the Day yesterday and Saturday and suddenly realized that during both programmes it appeared that I had not seen a single footballer who was in need of a haircut. As we are in the third month of a lockdown which includes hairdressers that struck me as a little odd. Or am I wrong ?

You’re not the first to notice that. I’ve heard of barbers near me who will come and do your hair.

Pedentry is a splendid thing. The water was boiled, the kettle did the boiling

Except without the torture.
We appreciate very much the fact that you stayed until someone came, we don't appreciate the fact that a non keyholder was left to lock up.
Now about those lights :-)

That was a courtesy for whomever turned up.

Around the time you posted this.
You were seen outside the gym before I got there. What's the story here Aaron ? Your name was on the track and trace sheet but without a time.
Who let you in ?
Who wandered off leaving you without the means to lock up ?
How did you know anyone would be there ?
Why were the lights in the gay room left on ?
So many questions Aaron, help us out here please.

It’s like the Spanish Inquisition here. I went to the gym at about 2 there were some old geezers and Gerry at the club, they left some time later I stayed until someone came.

I always listened, it would have been impolite not to. I tend to think that it was merely a typing error rather than any great desire to adhere to metric time.
As always I am mystified why you quote the entire post just to tell me I have the date wrong, but a man who finds it too dark to bench on the brightest day of the year is capable of anything
Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy
When are you going to return ?

It would take too long to delete the rest of the post. I might return in the autumn but not to powerlifting.

Bench, very raw, squat boots on
20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
50 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 3
80 x 3
90 x 2
100 x 2
110 x 2
115 x 2
120 x 2
125 x 1
125 x 1
Hugely disappointing, all was well up to the last set when I completely f**ked up the second rep. Did it again as a single to try to salvage what little pride I have left. It almost worked to.

Close grip
60 x 8
70 x 8
80 x 8
80 x 8
80 x 8
These were all on the slow side as I haven't done then for a while, well they are back now.

It may be prudent to reduce the increments from the intended five kilos to two point five. I saddens me deeply to have to resort to this but at least it might still work if I do it.

Bah ! bo***cks ! Bloody bench !

Ah are we on metric dates now you must have listened when I used to talk about moving on to the metric time system.

I started wearing a watch for the first time ever in May. It feels odd on the rare time I don't wear it.

Is that an official name or is it peculiar to Bolton ? Do they have a register for these things ? if so, who keeps it ?

No it's universal you can get one in most places that serve cocktails.

The world is waiting Aaron, what was this splendid brew that deserved both special mention and a photo to back it up.
And were you so interested that you were glad she did it ?

Fatpete said:Following my failure at McDonalds I walked round to a little "greasy spoon" that does a very reasonable full English.

On another table was what I assumed to be a father and his two daughters celebrating their exam results, when their breakfasts arrived, the father picked up his knife and fork and commenced eating, the daughters picked up their phones, took a photograph and then spent a minute or two typing - and then they ate.

If this were the seventh course of an exotic and expensive tasting menu at Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck in Bray I could maybe understand it, but a greasy spoon in Tyldesley's high street !!!!

Has it really come to this ?

I've just had a message from the wife that she is drinking a particular drink then to reinforce the message a photograph of it.

I don't recall that phrase at all. He told me to "get fired up" I told him many times that I didn't know how to but it never stopped him telling me.
I remember watching Eddie Halstead walking onto the platform at Mytholmroyd and Alan saying that here was a man with "some fire in his belly" From the way he said it, it was obviously a huge compliment, and from the way Eddie approached everything I understood exactly what he meant. But I never had any fire in mine, and probably never will.
Still we are all different, what suits one doesn't suit another. I try to get onto the platform without anyone noticing, lift quietly and get off the same way. Only me and the refs should ever know.
Happy Happy Happy

He said it a fair bit, usually on squats when he could see somebody was overthinking it.
