I had a plan for this sesh, it was snatch up to daily max in 1's, no more than three attempts. Then back squat in 3's, solid hard sets. Then offski, nothing else! It didnt feel like much and i wanted to clean an equal pb since i was up for it.

Missing 180 is starting to piss me right off by the way, but it's nothing compared to 125. I've had enough of this, 120 isnt hard to get. Powercleaned, easy jerk, add 5kg and watch me s**t myself!Angry


I know a guy who runs a similar prog to this, in essence it works. I thought the squat volume was decent no reason 180x3x3 could not happen in a few weeks, im certain alot of people would struggle to even single 95%+ after 3x3 at what im guessing is 95% of your 3rm? let alone have the energy left to PC+J 125.

One thing that works well for me is having a big pulling background under my belt (all be it not strict form wise), perhaps bringing your deads upto 220kg territory would boost your back squatting and whole body strength. The net effect being more confidence to attack new territory regularly! Everyone is an individual this may help YOU to creat a stronger mindset for maximising the benefits of singles routine like this week in week out.

Creating a mindset for consistent heavy lifting on these lifts is not easy...if it was im sure the masses of strength trainers would do it!

Irrespective of my ramblings you keep working hard and attacking lifts it WILL happen mate!

Interresting read Nick, i think you're right a bigger pull would defenitely help.
Everytime i've improved my deadlift my squat went up, and i need a strong squat for the main lifts. Plus it's been a while since i last nailed a pb.

Didnt realised you pulled 290k, that's impressive. I should be able to get to 210/220 with a bit of training, i did 190x5 in january.

Thing is i just had to deadlift for that one. Some newbee lifting comp. f**k knows why! I' m drunk, anyčway!
Some b**ch gave me red because i "used my legs", couldnt attempt 200 had to lift 190 again. Apparently you're not supposed to make the bar touch your quads when locking out. That's how i missed it and couldnt attempt 200.
So what the f**k are you supposed to do when you're built like a chimp?! When i lock out i've got to let the bar touch my legs right? Well i just miised this f**ker when i'm good for 210/215 but who gives a s**t? It's just a deadlift!

Been thinking about my training, i've got to pull it higher and do that fast. Then i must be hard under the bar, aggressive! Stand high as in a power snatch, punch the bar! Stiff and hard!

When i make that happen, doubles at 90 will be there again. Then we take 100!

Clean & jerk and pulls tomorrow!
