But then I would say that, wouldn't I. One of the people I train with (when he turns up) has served a ban, many years ago now. He made a bad choice and paid the price. Sometimes temptation gets to people, I guess. A lot of people were quite quite certain Tom Martin was on in GBPF, and vocal about it. I'm no expert, but it seems to me that the burst of progress and growth since he (very honourably and properly) resigned to take a more commercial path strongly suggests they were full of s**t. I run NWPL's testing programme. We look to test people who are good, or fast-improving, or just f**king ripped. We also pulled another "oh he's obviously on" lifter - Steve Manuel - when he was coaching, with no contests of his own in the vicinity. So far everybody's passed the WADA-approved tests, including him. He was delighted to be tested OOC, because he naively thought it might shut up the constant stream of this crap. No such luck. A lot of people like to say "oh, everybody good's on, they just know how to pass the tests". Maybe in sports which attract big money people can afford to pay for the latest and greatest designer drugs, but in amateur PL? Really? Bim makes a fair point. If "all" the top GB guys are on, they're getting f**king s**tty returns on their investments. | ||
