why no heavy singles? surely it wud be wise now u do PL. even just to condition yourself to the extra 10-20kg loads. i know uv got a plan but even doing heavy singles every other singles week (so every 8 weeks) wud be better and not spoil your plan

I'll look at singles closer to my comps, but non of them will be 1 rep maxes, just finding my openers. When I chase 1 rep maxes my training goes to s**t. I don't need heavy singles to get stronger, I pulled 227.5kg for the first time when I'd never used over 200kg in training, I squatted 170kg for the first time when I'd not used over 145kg, and I benched 120kg without using anything over 105kg. I'm happy to just stick to my plan this year and just see how the comps go.

We all repsond differently to things. But after I went away from my plan last year and started chasing 1RMs it lead to me pretty much making no progress, and if anything going backwards. I'm confident I'll be repping big weights in a few months. Just need to keep the calories high and stick to the plan.

Great session with Dom and Vausie at Vulcan. Squats went great, target was 6 but decided to go for an extra one with it been deload week coming up, and that is a rep PB. I'm still losing my form at times but not that bad really. I did the 150 set of SLDLs DOH and that is a PB of sorts. I've failed that log quite a few times recently so was chuffed to double it, although I was only aiming for a single. Dom you'll notice I've put the log down at 57.5kg to make you happy. The 5 reps on the circus dumbbell is a PB too. My training really couldn't be going any better right now.

Cheers guys. Feeling very confident at the moment that I'll be hitting some big lifts in this next year. Sticking to my own plan always works best for me Happy

To be fair Mr V I wasn't planning on doing more than a couple of reps so didn't bother setting the camera up. It was you two egging me on that lead to the 5 reps. Every 4 weeks I'll have a session like today, so next time I'll be going for at least 6 reps, I reckon 7 though Grin
