Yeah I did notuce that but didn't realise it was 531 you were doing. I also used straps on my top set. I'm having to change my grip slightly, so it will tale a few months for it to be as strong in the new way. I had to make the changes or I'd always rip my hand apart on comp bars.

Alright Paul,

Ive just started doing 531 (as a side not I started and then sacked off Juggernaut 8 or 9 months ago).
Does it matter using straps on deadlift? I know Its not advised and I didnt on my sets last night but Im not sure my grip will keep up wih back strength.

Whats your thoughts? - Oh and Happy New Year mateHappy

Some nice goals, and some nice military press numbers.

I shall be keeping an eye on this log. Not least because you beat me at the north west champs last month :-)

I'd say to stick with mixed grip for as long as you can, you'll probably find your mixed grip strength will improve faster than you think. Then as the weight gets heavy in the coming months you could just do the required reps each session with mixed grip, and then do a couple of heavy singles with straps, best of both worlds. The only reason I'm using straps at the moment is because I'm having to change how I grip the bar as comp bars are a lot rougher and if I don't change my hands will shread at every comp.

Is it a double overhand youre going for?
