POWER CLEANS

70 x 2
70 x 2
100 x 2
111 x 1
111 x 1
111 x 1
111 x 1
111 x 1

A couple of guys were training dead lifts with bands, and persuaded me to try out 220 (minus band tension). Very easy lift. I was then tempted by 250 (minus band tension), which was the working weight for one of the guys, who was doing singles. Again, an easy lift.

YOKE (beltless, as always)

New toy! I weighed it, and it's exactly 50Kg empty.

Messed around with some light weights and then worked up to...

310 for approx 25 metres - no drops, but slow.

How does JC sprint with this???

FARMER'S DEAD LIFTS (deep pick-up)

200 x 1
260 x 2
260 x 2

Comfortable.

Nice session Wayne. Now you have a yoke, it will come on very quickly I'd imagine

Thanks guys. I wouldn't want to train yoke too often, because it really does batter the body, but I intend to train it every few weeks.

jt's yokes are quality.

When you say 'deep pick-up', how heigh exactly from the floor are the handles?

Glad to see 2x2. What made you do that rather than your usual 1x1?

About 11 inches, around mid-shin height.

Just trying something different on these. I do vary my training occasionally. I'll be sticking to singles on barbell dead lifts though.

Hmmm, not really a 'deep' pick-up, especially considering your height. A standard barbell deadlift is from 9". Good work though.

It's deep for a farmer's walk pick-up. It's nearly always a lot higher than that in competitions.

Agreed, however you're using them as a deadlift variant. Still good to get a full range of motion in.

Thanks.

I was more pleased with the yoke. I was only planning to walk half that distance, but kept going. I've only been having the chance to do yoke very very occasionally.
