It's largely instinctive I think. I just 'know' what I need to do. I usually have a couple of options in my mind and I go with one of them. Next session I'm thinking I'll maybe go for 3 reps with 150kg, or I'll do a couple of singles with 162.5kg followed by some slightly lighter work.

I actually haven't been very sofa based recently. I've been front squatting twice a week. I may drop down to once a week when I can do 170kg consistently.

I was having a bit of collar bone discomfort due to being lighter, but that seems to have settled down. Persevere with it.

Keep increasing the height or add weight?

I tried holding a weight in each hand, but because of the way I was swinging my arms I wasn't sure if I was actually feeling the weight or not. Thoughts on this?

A bit of gentle cardio could be a good warm-up, but for anything more substantial I'd say to do the lifting first.
