Not my greatest ever performance, but it was a great day. Very tough comp!


LOG - 110, reps from chest

Unexpected power failure in shoulders!! Don't know what happened here, as I've been strong in training. Locked it out once, but it was disallowed (head not through). 0 reps!! I expected approx 5. Very disappointing start.


AXLE DEAD LIFT - 240 for reps

I was dreading this, but I was very pleased to manage 3 very solid reps. My back has felt really strong lately.


MEDLEY - 5 flips of 320 tyre, 70 keg carry, 220 frame walk

I'm usually crap at speed/fitness events, but I completed this in an OK (for me) time. Quite pleased.


LIMOUSINE PULL, 4x4 PUSH

Killer event! Completed it, but was WRECKED afterwards!


STONES - 125 x 5, 150 x 3, over yoke

4 times I lifted the 125 as high as physically possible, but it wasn't high enough! 0 reps!! On a more positive note, the 125 stone felt fairly comfortable to lift.


OVERALL - 7th out of 7.

going into the truck pull there was only 2.5 points between 7th and 3rd!!! was a very close comp mate, thought you did well, but had a very unlucky day

well done wayne suprised about the log it was the axle i thought you would struggle with getting 3 reps is excellent work

come up to mine for a session and we will work out a way for you to get the stone up high

CRAP session today. My head wasn't in it. I often struggle first session after a comp, and lack of sleep/food (due to work) would have been a factor too.


POWER CLEANS with small diameter discs on

105 - 2 reps, 2 reps, 2 reps (messy messy messy)


DEAD LIFTS

After feeling strong on the dead lift in my comp on Sunday, I felt I could pull 250 standing on blocks. Nope! Failed twice (although it did move). I then took the blocks away and tried it, but it weren't happening today. Disappointing.


SQUATS (raw)

180 - 6 reps


After that I'd had enough and wanted to go home! Hopefully back on track next session (probably Monday).

AXLE POWER CLEAN & STRICT PRESS

95 - clean + 2 presses, clean + 1 press, clean + 1 press, clean + 1 press


AXLE POWER SNATCH

Been meaning to have a go at power snatches for AGES, and finally got round to it!

30, 50, 50, 50 (getting used to technique)
70 - fail
60 - 1 rep, 1 rep


CHINS (under-hand grip) FROM AXLE

6 reps, 6 reps (grip was the limiting factor)


My training has gone a bit stale, and I think I need to make some changes (hence the "play" with axle power snatches today). Might do power snatches instead of power cleans for a while? Might also try some axle good mornings (axle for comfort!)? Maybe even some benching!

I'd love to compete in that comp. Events look great - nice decent weights, just as it should be! Realistically, I'd be very low on the list of potential competitors! There would have to be 30 guys in it for my name to have a chance of appearing!
