Might just rest my weary limbs, and not train at all until Monday.

I got the squat vids Mandy, how much is it worth to keep them off youtube?

Well done on the bench PB though.

Thanks mate. I have no money to pay you to keep it off you tube, but I can pay in kind. Roll-Eyes Grin

Meant to be a good session tonight however things turned out differently! Got a PB again, but thats only half the story!

Squats:
5x 70k
5x 90k
3x 120k
1x 150k
1x 160k (failed - stupidly fell forward, have no idea why?)
1x 160k (completed squat, but on the way up i pulled something! Inside top of leg - felt it go twang!)

Bench:
20x bar
5x 70k
5x 90k
2x 110k
1x 122.5k (New PB)
2x 110k
2x 110k

Really pissed off with the injury! Come at the wrong time, as I need to progress!

bad news on the injury mate but a benchpress pb must be some compensation.

Yeah, quite pleased with that Ed, thank you. Almost went for 125, perhaps in a couple of weeks eh?

You may find that this is simply how you tend to fail squats at the moment - it was for me for ages (and may still be sometimes, for all I know). In my case it was a symptom of squatting too narrow and hitting the bottom without enough control.

Hope the injury turns out to be little or nothing - sometimes they do!

Thanks Rik, that makes a lot of sense actually. Last two times I have failed, it has been in the same way!

With regards to stance, yes! I always have in mind to widen my stance, but it sort of never happens, and I always end up squatting far too narrow! Something I must now work on!

Have a very busy day today at work, and thats going to be a bit of a challenge! Can't even walk upstairs properly!

Thinking about my squats a bit more, I seem to be putting all the weight on the balls of my feet instead of kind of driving through the heals, if that makes sense? When I'm able to squat again properly, I think I will drop the weight and concentrate on driving it up properly instead of rushing it and thus losing it!

On the injury front, well this morning was really quite bad, so I strapped it up and put on some tight cycle shorts for extra support. Climbing in and out of the van was difficult and carrying cylinders into peoples houses and especially upstairs was painful. However, as the day wore on it eased slightly, and now I'm home, I can actually walk up the stairs properly instead of one at a time. Still pulls with each step, but it is an improvement ans thats what matters!

If your weight is towards the toe then you *will* fall forward any time you're near a max. Actually you won't need to be near a true max.

Yeah thanks Rick. Actually it might be an idea for Finch to post up that vid if he still has it? It looked like I almost ran to re-rack the bar - mind you, it did fcukin hurt!

Are you about Finch? Or am I too late mate?

Just did chest tonight. However, decided to help spot Kevin & Stuart squatting first and then jumped in on the bench with them.

Bench:
30x bar
10x 70k
5x 90k (paused)
5x 100k (paused)
3x 110k
3x 110k
1x 120k
1x 125k (New PB)
2x 110k
2x 110k
5x 100k

Pleased with that!

* Injury update: Inside of thigh very obviously swollen, and bruising is now coming out. Seems to me that it is some sort of tear rather than a pull!
