Leg rehabilitation continued this evening with the following:

Just to prove I listen, I done no stretching whatsoever before squatting.

Squats:
10x bodyweight
10x bar
8x 40k
8x 60k
5x 80k
5x 80k

Though very tempted to go heavier, I resisted once again, although it felt quite good.

Bench:
8x 70k
8x 70k
5x 90k
5x 100k
3x 110k
3x 110k
2x 115k
2x 115k
2x 115k

Deadlifts:
8x 70k
5x 110k
5x 140k
5x 140k
3x 160k

Started to push these back up again now, hopefully there will be a PB in the comp which is now only a few weeks away.

Just a suggestion to ponder Malc. I had some knee issues a couple of years back and broght the squats right down to 70K and did 3 10's. I upped the weight by 10K a week for as long as I could do 10's, then 5's, then 3's and so on. I went from hardly walking to PBing right through the rep range. It was hard to lay low at first, but I know it works and if I wanted a big squat 1RM again it's the route I'd goWink

Yeah thanks Andy. Its almost what I'm doing to be honest but not as structured as you suggest. I am roughly adding 10k a time, but I do still squat 3x a week. So, I'm probably increasing a little too quickly? I do aim, however, to cut this down to squatting every other session, or even once a week like I used to going back a few months. I seem to be be fine with benching and deads 3x a week. But my legs can't seem to cope with it, and so it probably amounts to overtraining?

Thanks Finch. They have been completely pain-free, so I'm confident I'll get what I want with them. Like everyone else there tonight it seems, I felt really nackered!Confused

Didn't push the leg any further tonight - doing the same as I did Wednesday, although I did increase the deads a tad!

Squats:
10x bar

3x 100k (paused)
3x 105k (paused)
1x 110k (paused)
1x 120k (paused)
1x 130k (touch n go) (Equalled PB but only just went up)
1x 125k (paused) (this only just went up)

Rather pleased with the 125k at the end these, as this is what I want at the next comp in 3 weeks, so if I can just about get it up at the end of this session, then it should go up ok at the comp.

Deads:
8x 70k
5x 110k
5x 150k
3x 170k
3x 190k
1x 200k
1x 200k
Failed with 205k - just about spent! I need to increase deadlifts next week then taper down for the comp. Hoping to get 215k there.

Decided it was time to up it a little with squats, so:

3x 120k (a bit wary of injury but no pulling so all ok)

5x 100k (these felt heavy tonight???)

Needed a little test with these tonight, and was quite pleased as the 210k went up reasonably smoothly. This is only 2.5k under my PB that I did at the Lancs & cheshire, so all is looking ok for the comp.

Right, because of this bloody leg injury, I had become sick to death of poncing about with fairy weights on the squat, I decided to don the suit and squat eqipped tonight. One problem, well two actually, the technique required is obviously very different, and because of the tightness of the suit, I could not get depth. The best I did was around 1 & 1/2 inches above depth. That was with the 200k

Squats:
5x70k (straps down)
5x 100k
3x 120k
3x 140k
3x 160k (straps up)
1x 180k
1x 200k
1x 210k

As I said above none of these were to depth, but with the 210k, I have to admit I was a bit scared of it, so it was more shallow than the others. Overall though, very pleased - certainly very good to get get some weight on my back again anyhow!

Bench:
20x bar
8x 60k
5x 100k
5x 100k
3x 110k
2x 115k
2x 115k
5x 100k

Not that happy with these, not enough strength at all.

Deads:
8x 60k
5x 110k
3x 160k
1x 180k
1x 200k
Failed at 2nd 200k

Not happy with these either, I expected to be able to do a bit more.

The heavy squats will have taken quite a lot more out of you than you realised for the other lifts, mate.
