Cheers gents. Got to keep it going to BSM 90's. Will re assess training after the comp to see where I can make gains for next year. Happy with my progress over the last couple of months but aware it won't last, so a definate need for a change in training emphasis after the comp.

Disappointing stones- not quite getting the height

Hi mate! If the stones is a technique thing, which I imagine it would be with your strength, think of it like an olympic lift - have to be disciplined and FINISH the pull, I always use to cut it short on the extension and try to push it on with my hands even though I just wasn't pulling it high enough or as high as I could, so food for thought, just keep your hands on it a few seconds longer, I haven't seen any of your vids mind you, but I can't imagine you don't have the power to nail a 130 stone, unless its something like a 60" platform.

Cheers mrsmall. Your right, I was trying to get them onto the platform before getting the height. Definitely need to practice them. Also need to just attack it more and not think about it too much.

I think you may well be on a podium spot at the brits Stuart. When you nail tech on the stones (matter of time, certainly not a lack of strength) you'll be hard to beat.

I can't remember what my best time is. I think I've been around 1:25... My claim to fame is that I beat Daley Thompson at a training camp in lanzarote about 15 years ago!
