I'm working on BN jerk just now to try get my lockout on my right arm better. The start position allows for a more explosive drive and I tend to get a better line on it ie receive it in a better position. I'm also doing push press from in front just now, so aiming that doing both will help my jerk from infront. They're definitely worth doing if you have trouble holding the bar on your shoulders or you have a tendency to drive the bar too far infront.

It makes sense, how do you fit push press and bn jerk in, both on same day, alternate week on week? or do both in different sessions same week?

The Jerk BN aren't that heavy as I'm really using them to work my right elbow in an attempt to improve the speed of my lockout. When this feels better I will reassess when I do them and fit them in with push press. Overhead generally feels pretyy weak at the moment.

This was an event organised by Doug Edmunds as part of the world pipe band champs. Enjoyable day, but its fair to say our team was a little disappointed in our performance, came 4th overall. We were representing team scotstoun (myself, wullie and stevie) Ist event - 2 man log (not sure of weight- 130-135kg) (me and stevie) - 11 reps- 1st place 2nd event- stones- 80, 90, 100, 110 - managed all of them. Our team managed 9 in total. Think this placed us 4th or 5th. 3rd event - 2 man DL (axel and approx 18inches) not sure of weight- it wasn't heavy for 2 guys- maybe 360. Myself and wullie did this. Only managed 11- we shoudl have done a lot better. 4th event- 3 man pole push- hammered by Team ayrshire, who went onto beat every other team and win this event. Last - nil points. 5th event- farmers- 65kg 3 man event- furthest cummulative distance round the pitch wins. We managed 3rd. Not sure of our distance but I managed just over 1 lap. Overall a very good day, loads of spectators, good competition and well organised. 14-8-11 Rowing 40:20x10, 30:30x10, 20:40x10- work time 15min- 4287m, 1:44.9/500m ave. Hi youngy, it was work: rest for the times i.e 40s work: 20s restx10, then 30s work:30s rest x 10 and finished with 10 x 20s work: 40s rest. total time on the rower was 30min, but only actually worked for 15min. I tried to keep my stroke rate moderate, the average over the time was 27spm but 40s and 30s intervals were at 25spm.
