Basically, what I call eating s**t is eating the normal healthy things I do anyway, then adding some high calory stuff also. So I suppose similar to what you suggested. It's quite easy really, I basically just follow what my heart desires, ir. NOT purposely avoiding things like chocolate, crisps etc...

There's that as well! I STILL haven't regained all the weight, and it's worryingly settled somewhere lower than it was. In terms of how I feel, I've felt plenty good over the last week, maybe longer, so I'd be upset if I haven't recovered until now. It's possible though!

I won't worry about it until I have a 's**t' spell again.

So I'm working in the shop today. (yes another shop story...)

A customer asks 'do you go fishing?'
I reply 'no...'
He asks 'so what do you do then'
I reply 'powerlifing'

So then I got the usual 'oh really? My uncle does that, he had the world record'

Yeah right, everyone who asks knows world champions/record holders from their s**tty gyms. Rarely is it true though...

Anyway I humour him 'yeah? What's his name'

'Ronnie Collins'

FUUUUCCCKKKK OFFFF!!!

Should note, his nephew who I spoke to had a very solid build too, and hasn't touched a weight...

Didn't Rob Palmer recently break one of his records ? Thus possibly naking him the strongest 82.5 to have lived here

My thoughts on dieting/eating clean for strength/power athletes i.e not people desperately trying to lose weight for any reason.

The most beneficial way would be to diet 100%, good clean eating and do some good cardiovascular exercise for certain periods of the year, say 1 month out of twelve, strength would not drop but bodyfat would, and CV and probably general body health will improve somewhat. The rest of the year as long as calories are not in massive excess consistently, bodyweight should remain stable and the athlete should be in sound mind and body, even with some cookie binges! As long as the nutritional requirements are met, vitamins & minerals, and protein of course.

What do you think, Tom?

Also I am convinced the guys that do another sport alongside lifting progress far better than guys "just" lifting weights. Alternatively, treat the weights like a sport and lift as regularly as you would train a sport, however often that is. I think you see great benefit from your sprinting.

Even if he did, given todays equipment, and the equipment Collins used, the lifts arent really comparabloe

Its like comparing an equipped squat from early 90s....with one in todays suits. No comparison!
