I do it on yoke and farmers for a stronger core. im much faster on the first breath so I just hold it for as long as possible! on log press I find the press is alot stronger if I can clean and press it without breathing. I do train taking a breath after the clean though and I shouldve reverted to that at the comp when what I was doing wasnt working. on stones I kind of hold the breath in my belly so I can rest the stone on it for the load. that does slow me down alot though. am I strange? | ||

I didnt mean stop doing the single breaths and immediately break your PBs. Rather to think what is the best way to do things, and train accordingly. long term mate! | ||

Trump will get another four years Member 126, 16707 posts SQ 160, BP 110, DL 225495.0 kgs @ 75kgs UnEq | Training today: Farmers walk (27.5m course): 70kg for 55m 100kg for 55m - 34secs Power cleans: 60kg x 3 70kg x 3 80kg x 2 90kg x 1 100kg x 1 105kg x 2 PB Stiff-leg deadlift (touch + go): 100kg 3 x 10 2 Hand pinch holds (2x 20kg plates): 40kg for 20secs pretty good session. back still not right so no yoke today and not too heavy on the farmers. speed felt pretty good after a slow pickup. power cleans felt a little off but still managed a pb so im happy with that too. did the sldl to try and stretch out my back a bit and it did seem to help. vid: | ||

Trump will get another four years Member 126, 16707 posts SQ 160, BP 110, DL 225495.0 kgs @ 75kgs UnEq | cheers neil. in my experience with this injury power cleans do tend to help for some reason. the worst pain is from deadlifts and overhead. log press doesnt seem to affect it much though. the barn would be good to train in but at the moment its much more convenient to have my gym stuff, log and stones at home so I can train whenever. JC - that would be fun if I were finnish! just trying to work the grip and conditioning without hammering the back too much with a heavy pickup and carry. | ||
