I'm trying my best Andy! If it's the most you've ever done it's a PB - even though we both know there's plenty more there - you did 8 reps with it!

Josh - I'm not too fussed either TBH. I would like to know in advance, but it probably won't make that much difference. Appollons wheels aren't cheap, so maybe that's why no reply - or the damage to the floor they'd cause?

Joni - I don't get tired of hearing it either. Grin 260kg in wraps this year.

JC - as someone who truly understands what a GASH raw puller I am, you know that that 230 triple was an equal PB. The best thing, as you say, is that it was fairly comfortable. 265-270 raw should go in the next few weeks. Probably won't max in the suit for a while yet though. Will be after 310kg (at least) when I do though.

Macca - SHUT IT you dick and get my blocks made!!!Wink

Gra - cheers pal. I've binned the jerk off on the log (for now LOL), but am doing some sort of strange power jerk on the axle. Why I don't just split jerk it I don't know. I'll take a vid on Sat for you (the jerk master!) to take a look at.

Will - I'll give you some squat tips when you give me those sandbag tips that I PM'd you about. Wink

Olly - I'll take that as a compliment - cheers! Grin

s**t! I keep doing that - reading a pm not having time to answer it and then completely forgetting about them. we need a 'mark as unread' feature! apologies!

basic things you need are good quality rubble sacks, polypropelene sacks and good quality duct tape. ill do an explanation when ive got a min. remind me in my log if I forget, I wont miss it there!

heres a thread that has my original instructions in it:

http://www.sugdenbarbell.co.uk/forum/Sand-Bags-8494

these are the sacks you want:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SACKS-BAGS-WOVEN-POLYPROPYLENE-24-x4...

alternatively you could use these army kit bags:

http://www.meanandgreen.com/army/British_Army/British_General_...

^ these are good if you want to make the 'floppy' sort as opposed to the 'rigid' sort in the instructions above.

looks like a good session on the strict log and cgbp.

been looking at the metal pro briefs have you ever used them for squats as I understand it pretty much helps handle slight higher loads or the same load and not sustain as much damage especially in the hips.-decent structural support.

wheels are being taken off for NOS2 , apparantly be around a 2" diffrence up or down, still around the same height though.

Cheers Andy, got to love a few cheap PB's!

Robbo - pleased with the progress on the strict log - I did 85kg 3 weeks ago and only managed 5, so it's coming on well.

Cheers JC and Neil - would love a 180kg bench this year!

Ian - not expecting to set the world on fire and suddenly become one of the top 105's, but I am hoping for a good competitive year. I'm currently stronger than ever so see no reason why not.

Will - No worries mate, I was only pulling your leg. I was going to get some of the sandbags off Brian but now I'm not so sure I need to. Your advise is great and I'm going to get to work ordering some of that stuff and get making myself some nice sandbags. do the polypropylene sacks need to be covered in duct tape? will they split if not? What about the ones you use at St. Ives - are they Hessian sacks? If so is everything else the same? Where did you get those from? sorry for all the questions and thanks a lot for the help!

About the squat - I'm really no expert, but here are some of the things that I believe have helped me:

- 5,3,1 for pretty much all of last year - I like reps and don't like wrapping my knees. Consistency was the main thing I was after
- Odin knee wraps - I put them on uber tight and they give me loads - took me quite a while to get used to them though!
- Changing from looking up to looking more straight forwards - much stronger for me

Things I think you could do from seeing your vids/log:

- more reps
- tighter wraps
- low bar position
- squat to just below parallel, no deeper. Tighter wraps will help with this.
- knees out, squat back as far as poss, then down

You are built for squatting and with a bit of work I'm sure you could see your progress rocket - I'm sure it would do great things for your deadlift too.

Damo - just trying to keep up with you at the moment mate.

Josh - I've never seen the metal pro briefs. They will definitely let you handle much heavier loads though and help protect your hips. People get quite a lot out of briefs as I'm sure you would.

When you say the wheels are being taken off for NOS2 (ignore my post about it in your journal), do you mean a 2" difference from last time (15"), or from the floor?
