personally i think the showers are the hardest , outdoor swimming is the easiest , then ice baths then cold showers , when i started i had a warm shower to wash and then finished with a cold shower starting with 1 minute and just adding 10 15 seconds till i got up to 10 minutes and somewhere along the line i stopped bothering with the warm shower and just washe dunder the cold. Its probably best if you leave your ego at the door and just accept that its going to be f**king grim at first and just increase your time under the water slowly. In my experience the first minute is the worst .
i started the ice baths after quite a long period of cold showers so i was acclimatised i think if you go straight for the outdoor bath it may be quite a shock to your system but i guess you could but just not go in for long at first.

Ah, that's kinda how I first started. I'd gradually drop the temp of the shower until it was fully cold. However that felt like slow torture so just started to blast it straight to cold instead.

Sorry for all the questions, but are you doing the deep breathing too?
Intermittent fasting?
I'm already going to give the intermittent fasting another go as I've found it beneficial in the past.
It's pretty practical with less food prep and also cheaper as I'm eating less!

not a problem mate, i do the breathing first then i'll get in the barrel i usually do the breathing a couple of times a day . I'll start the intermittent fasting when i go back to work i usually have an early tea the day before and then have a late tea the day of the fast so a good portion of it is done whilst i'm asleep . I'm ok with the fasting when i'm busy at work but when i'm at home i can't do it, too much temptation.

I have tried a few different types of intermittant fasting and i like the 12 hour one .... builing upto 14 or so , gives THE INSIDES time to do its thing without having to deal with any sort of foodage/drinkys

the teatime to teatime 24 hour one is also good but is more of a special occasion rather than a thing i can continue

have a sexy 2021 nedward.

I lost the bulk of my bulk last year following OMAD. Not particularly because of the IF benefits (of which their seem to be several) but because I found it less tempting for small meals to become big ones through the day. It was also easier for me to work out a daily diet and stick to it by eating it all in an hour. Wasn't particularly difficult after a time and I only stopped it as I hit target weight and didn't want to keep dropping.

I work with a Nigerian guy who fasts regularly for 48 hours, and has told me that he has done 14d a couple of times in the past without any adverse effects. I mention that he is Nigerian as I suspect that this may be a cultural thing, but his accent is so strong that I can't understand him, and I've asked him twice now. It isn't for sport or religion. Reading up on the benefits of autophagy and it does look interesting.

I'd agree. 15/9 is what I'd be going for, possibly 16/8. Pretty easy to hit protein goals in that window and long enough fast portion to feel the benefits.

Probably around the 8-9pm area. This allowed me to get in a weight session of some description and eat straight after. Again that session didn't feel fatigued at all.

From what I've experienced I think we all over egg how much skipping/ postponing a meal affects us. Probably won't sit well with many on this forum which I get, but I'd say if you're interested in the effects give it a go. Easy enough to have a butty if it isn't for you.
