Today I did my first events session since late April, really enjoyed it, but forgot how god damn awkward strongman kit is. Bit of what I've been up to first; had time off training to help my foot heal after I broke it at esm (who knew time off would help it heal ), then hit a few PB's on squat and bench, then did 8 weeks of weightlifting, did a local comp at cross fit gym and totalled 202.5kg (lol). Then became a shredder for my holiday and got jacked3d. Then had a month off and started lifting again just over 3 weeks ago. Progress is good, but body is sore. Finally back to weights worth logging, so here goes. Saturday 13th September Events @TWG, bodyweight 83kg Log clean and press (every rep candp) 40kg x5, x5 75kg x3, x3 85kg x3 95kg x1 105kg x1 110kg xf 110kg x1 100kg x1 Forgot how awkward log was. Have got fairly decent at overhead thanks to the oly lifting, but having a massive f**king bit of metal on ones chest is a different kettle of fish. Plate loaded fat handed DB FTOH 52.5kg x3 57.5kg x3 62.5kg x3 67.5kg x3 vid below 72.5kg x1 PB vid below 80kg x1 PB vid below 85kg xf, xf So close with fails, just need to stabilise it and it's up. Will get it next week. Vids of fails below too. Atlas stones to 52" no tacky 50kg x5 80kg x5, x5 105kg x1, x1 vis below 80kg x8 in 55s vids below Sandbag load to 52" with a 5m run in, then take down, run back 5m and load again is 1 rep 80kg x4, x4, x4, x4 Hanging leg raises - bw x10, x10, x10 superset with Hanging knee raises - bw x10, x10, x10 Good to be back. Nice starting points, now time to hit some reps and get the muscles used to the movements. Then try some big weights around Xmas. Hopefully be in good shape by st Ives in November. My hiding in the dark and viewing every so often has lead me to believe that it's unsalvageable unfortunately though mate. Nice session. Really say this a lot but should start going to TWG and quit being a ballbag. Big Jay et al still getting on well down there? | ||
