Englands u90kg - 25/6 Felt good going in, weighed in at a full 90.0kg, first time I have ever filled out the weight cat, good news going forward. Warmed up well and felt good going in max log. Event 1 - Max log in the last three years I have devoted a lot of time to pressing so feel good going into press events now. Log had been going well so was hopeful of a good number. The Rebel logs are a bit odd, very wide handles and narrow centre, but moved well. Warmed up and hit a double on 100kg, ready to go. 102kg - good lift 112kg - good lift 122kg - good lift 132kg - good lift 137kg - fail =3rd in the event Event 2 - 260kg frame carry x30m Was dreading this going in, as handles were fairly thick and my grip hasn't caught up with my other strengths. My worry was proved right and picked it up about 6 times but could not move without grip going. 0m - last place (this cost me a top 4 finish) Event 3 - 200kg axel squat for reps Out first on this so just had to go balls to the wall. hit 11 reps which was only beaten by Tom, but equalled by 2 others. 11 reps - =2nd place Event 4 - 220kg deadlift for reps Didnt know what back would do here, luckily it kept in place. Was out early again on this, so just repped out, hit 11 again (loal) which sat well in the placing. 11 reps - 4th place Event 5 - stones 90kg to 6ft, 100kg to slightly under 6ft, 110kg to about head height, 130kg to some height, 150kg to slightly lower. Tacky and tape blew straight off on first stone (gay), loaded three no bother, then 130 laped it three times, but couldnt load. This cost me 6th by half a point. Finished 7th overall. Couple big errors on my part, which I shouldnt be making with my experience. Managed to get into Brits anyway, so got that in a few weeks, so need to put in a performance I am proud of. Will update my training in a bit. Word! | ||
