So so day but not much less than expected. It was a long day and def felt tired for most of it. Got up and hour early (€Cool ) than needed.... and so did my son Happy , weighed in at 9ish but then didn't lift till 3pm. Could have been in better shape but for whatever reason didn't have a big enough lunch and I should have just buggered of from the venue till and hr before warming up. Anyhoo. Thats the exuses done Tongue

Squat felt rough warming up and started to doubt my opener. However was very happy when it was no probs. Tidy indeed. Fully expected to get 240, and it was really down to a technical thing. For whatever reason came forward a tad descending, and then missed it forward on way up. Either didn't have bar set up 100% or lost some tightness on a slight missed step walking out. Could have taken it as a third and maybe more put decided to pass as was just not feeling it today. In hindsight should have taken a third lift but there you go.

Benching was the suprise of the day. I was actuallly pretty decent. 145 was tidy enough and happy with considering training not good. Well missed 150 but wasn't a hail mary attempt.

So by squat and bench had left a bit on the platform but at least both misses were on equal pb attempts.

I felt very nice warming up on the deadlifts but then seemed an age from my last warm up to my opener. By then I'd dropped badly. Opener was like pulling through treacle. Didn't fell heavy at all... just slooooowww.w. Passed on 2nd then put in 262.5kg as this meant if the current leader missed his 3rd lift and I got mine I'd have one. He got his last deadlift and that was that. I think I would have had a good attempt at 262.5 but ruined it from the start by being a bit jerky and pushing bar forward with my shins.

So it was a solid enough day when viewed as a training session. Probably left close to 20kg on the platform mostly on the squat but I was not being, or planned to be, too ruthless today.

Positives were; 230 def being an opener on the squat, 5kg of best meet bench after feeling gash for 6 weeks in training, and taking 250 when knackered deadlifting. Would have missed that a year ago.

Easy week then in reality start for the Brits in April.
