Good session but felt tired.

Went for a pb again on the bench. Only just squeeked it, and it spent me. The 130 after was ropey as anything and stopped at 3 to save more funky reps.

Deads moved well. Hook grip better today than Monday. I think it would not have held up to another rep. Just the one down set.

Monday is 3s on each lift. Gona be tough, but days rest should see me good. On the home straight now.

Happy days.

Bit slow and sore warming up in the squat but nailed top triple and a PB with a little gas to spare. Unfortunately my arms v sore by then so no down work. Gave myself a bit of rest time whilst training partner squatted.

Deads good. 210 and 230 felt harder than it could have been, but top triple was dam nice. Grip was okay, but still know its not 100% solid on reps. Another rep would have been my limit for sure on grip.

Arms calmed down so benched after deads. Still a bit tentative so didn't push the load and instead did some pauses on what felt would be my top set. Finished with bigger pauses on a down set.

Next up is 2s. Squats on thurs and bench and deads sat.

Job done today. Wasnt feeling as sharp as I was warming up on Monday but not complaining about a PB!

No down work. Just getting sharp for the meet next week. Plus my gammy arms still pretty sore and husbanding them for last heavy bench work on Sat.

Last heavy session.

Bench was okay. But quite sore in arms and beat in shoulders so left it at that. Easy enough opener practice anyway.

Deads very nice. Only issue was grip. Struggled with it on top set. Think it may be at least in part the bar. Feels like its rolling in my hands? Still 260 moved well with another rep there.

All heavy work done.

Last session Monday working to 80% on singles.

OHP 60*1? Was at crossfit Solent today and they are doing their Crossfit totals (squ, OHP and dead). Their current no1 on their chalk board is 460kg. So 60 OHP gave me 480 Wink I'll do it in anger next thurs.

Interesting mix of lifts to run RMR on Glen.

mainly running it for the squat for the bdfpa single lift in eight weeks. cant stand benching and think cleans would be less pressure on my hips which I have had issues with of late than deadlifts would.

in the future might run it for full power but wanted stuff which wouldn't derail my squat progress

Tbh the press is probably more manly and better test of pure strength than bench. However I like lying down between squat and dead!

GBPF South Midlands Championships

Bw 92.5kg.

Squat;

255 (pb)

Great start. Squats felt as good as training dictated. All 3 no trouble. Poss 5kg in the tank. Arms did start to hurt, but had 30mins at least before I needed to warm up for the bench. Add painkillers and all was good.

Bench;

Boom. 7.5kg meet pb. Tbh I was shocked how quick the 160 went up. It felt like a second lift at least. I appear to have a half decent comp bench now.

Sub total 415kg (20kg pb)

Deadlift;
247.5
260
275 = pb

Total 690kg PB
9/9
No red lights Happy


Finished the day with some great pulling. 260 gave me a pb total by 10kg. 275 meant I smashed my total pb. Think 280 was there, but 275 was the right choice on the day.

Wonderful days lifting. I'll be smiling for quite a while!
