Member 77, 12599 posts SQ 265, BP 165, DL 280710.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | 17/3/14 Bench press; barx3x5 60x10 100x5 115x3 130x4x4 Deadlift- w/belt; 60x5 100x1 140x1 180x1 220x1 220x6x4 (straps on) Ended up a v tough session. As always on Mondays I have to get as much work as poss in in just over an hr. Tough when the work is challenging and just have to do best I can. Bench was moving well enough. However as I wanted to focus on deads it was a fine line between getting work done and resting enough to get quality work done. Settled for 4 sets with just 2-3mins rest. This was starting to 'not be enough' by 4th set. And was time to finish there. Deadlifts were good today. Finger still a ways of healing. However I tested it up to 220 before putting straps on. Happy with the 220 as felt better grip wise than sat. However still not at a place were I can train on it without straps. Deads were very hard and again a balance of rest to getting work done in a time limit. Happy with 6x4. Session on paper was 6x6. Last time I did this I only got 3 sets at 6 and with much better rest periods. Last set was full on. The final 2 reps were as ugly as it gets for me. But job done. I will now rest the hand up till next week with no more deads till then. Next week is start of heavy 2 weeks prior to next comp on 13th of April. Fingers crossed I can do some heavy work on my hand by then! | ||

Have these dam kids got anything better to do at 11pm than train. Student life has changed Anyhoo after waiting 25mins for the only rack in the gym to get free guys doing bench followed by incline bench got my squats in. Moved pretty well actually despite a s**t bar, in a s**t rack, infront of a mirror. If I was RPEing 200x4 would have been an 8/8.5. Job done. Next up 3x10 for bench thurs, and for squats on Friday. | ||

Strange sess. Did the work and it was a PB for,this 3x10 sess, but not happy with most if tech. Just a bit ropey and didnt feel finally happy with many sets. Best set was last set! Bar speed didnt appear ti change much between first and last set Finished with some fluff. | ||

Very happy. Honestly didnt think id do the full work on 220. I setmy stall at getting 5 would be good enough and very happy if I made 6-7. It didnt feel great to start but kept plugging away. Got a second wind at 6 and it kept going till the end. Exciting session each set after 6 I was waiting for the crash, but it never quite came! Took its time though. From bar to end if work sets was 1hr45mins with 85mins to do work sets. After that I battered through the 120s on bench. Tech better than yestarday. Almost didnt feel like I benched day before. Stuck to 2 mins test apart from before last set. Good good. Thats the end of the 4 week high volume, smolov Jr/RMR style phase. Marred by some niggles, but right were I want to be now. Lets hope finger strain isn't too problematic by end of next week! | ||

Into last 2 week heavy phase now. Starting of at 5s and working to 2s. I felt like not a huge amount there today. Not terrible but not flying. Number of poss reasons but Ohh well. It was a pb mind you but a bit of a default one. I thought id be going for a heavy set after 220. Not to be today. Had a little time left so did a little pressing after. Next full sess is 5s on bench then deads. | ||

Bunch of lifts done for 1 min. 3 circuits. Good sess overall. Bench was nice. I equaled my 5RM and without hand off and last rep not as hard as last time. Bigger pauses on 130 down set. Deadlifts a bit funny due to finger injury. Worked up to 240 hook. Felt secure but could feel my finger. Put straps on for 260 and decided id go for 5. Failed badly lol. Still I dont like pulling in straps and its still a very good tripple for me. Straps off for first down set. My grip strength failed after 3. No doubt due to lack of hook grip pulling in last 2 weeks. Got a bit annoyed and decided to work back up using singles and holds. Figured this would really testmy finger and help get my grip into condition. Went well. Worked up to my planned opener. Was a hard, but smooth rep. Good after preceding work. Plus happy with finger to continue to commit to meet in a few weeks! Sat its 4s in squat and bench. Think deads I will just do singles I'll do 260 for 3-4 singles and simply add 5kg each session. By next Sat that will mean 270. I'll do some lighter down work using straps. | ||

Squats moved well enough. Back was feeling tired and could,feel it on heavy work. 230*3 was solid, but felt not good enough to go for 4 on the day. Bench was decent, but not enough there to get 4 today and thankfully pushed it back into lower hooks when I missed Deadlift was tough. Grip was tired, but still happy with the work across last two sessions getting back into heavy hooking with my injured finger. 31/3/14 Squat; Barx8 60*5 100*4 140*2 160*2 180*1 200*1 220*3 @8.5 232.5*3 @9.5 PB 217.5*3 @9 Band+dumbell circuits for upper body. Nice enough spot of squating, and a cheeky pb. Feeling a little more ummpphh today than Sat. Just a little more. Hopefully I'll feel even better at the end of the week. | ||

Moved as should be. Nice The decided to do some jumping as the place now has some soft boxes in there now. I was not at the races to do 41". TBH I didn't know the heights till I looked at the kit online after, and it did look pretty high and figured I may not do it. Tired etc. My best is 45" after a bit of practice so 41" was gona be tough. Plus there was little way to actually graduate between the 29" and 41". Anyway I know the heights now and will carry on with it. After next meet I'll be taking time of deadlifting to let my hand recover and I'll do plenty of box jumps while I am. | ||

Beltless squat is 230*2. 3/4/14 Bench; Barx3x4 60*5 80*4 95*3 110*2 125*3 140*3 132.5*3 Deadlift; 60*5 100*3 140*1 180*1 220*1 245*1 265*2..missed 3rd rep. Tail of two halfs. Poor benching, but good pulling. Was feeling a bit washed out all day and bench was decidedly off. Was planning 145-150 for 3 but after 140 decided that was enough. Deadlift moved well though. Got my ass in gear for it and finished with one of best doubles I have done. Just slightly mucked up the 3rd rep just pushing it foward. Still happy with strength and my finger serviced. One more heavy session to go on Sunday | ||
