Squat- 180x1, 200x1, 210x1
Deadlift- 220x1, 240x2
Calf raise/Hise shrug combo- 10-5x4
Hanging leg raises- 10x1
Abb machine- drop set

Last heavy session and practicing openers for the Brits. Was training at a fitness first and their oly bar was s**t. No center knurling (felt like they oiled the f**ker!) and a rack in front of a mirror. Never mind, my squating was off but still made 210 without drama, although it was tougher than I wanted it to be. Deadlifts went well though. 240x2 was solid with 1-2 reps in the tank. Then messed around with a couple of machines I don't normally use. Calf raise/shrugs were good. Abb machine was gash!

Bench press- 100x3x5
Dumbbell rows- 40x10x5
Pulldowns- 10x2

Last bench press training. A good block of speed work. Tech and power all felt spot on. All with good pauses and held bar for a good count of 5 between each rep. Finished with some light upper back work and that was that.

My calfs are still sore too touch form fri's session. Limped out of bed this morning like a ballerina!!

Strength took a dip as I lost weight over the course of an active holiday plus low carbs the weekend I got back (lost 2kg in a week!). Only had one bum session though so no probs!

The beard is well and healthy, and shall be thus until after the Brits!

What's so bad about a rack in front of a mirror?Confused

Nice lifting, mate. What are your openers for the comp?

If your not used to it it's destracting and I feel like I am leaning forward too much. I'd much rather feel my technique than see it in front of me. For me I feel the most at ease squating without a rack or cage, ie in a comp or just squat stands.

My openers will be 210, 135 and 245

Hmmm, my gym's rack is in front of a mirror - I hadn't thought about how I'd feel about lifting without the mirror there. It's all about what you're used to, so I guess I need to think about that if I'm serious about this comp.

Those are some big openers, Iain. Are you looking at 3PBs for this comp?

I think its out of my reach this time Icepick. I would like to go for 227.5 (500lbs) on my 3rd lift. As long as 210 and 220 go okay Tongue If the likes of Dave Carter or Andy Bonner lift the record may fall to someone else anyway.

Cheers Tbench. I'll put that down in the diary!
