was trying to go for a bench 1rm of 102.5kg today but failed Unhappy

bench:
bar x 6
40kg x 3
60kg x 6
80kg x 1
90kg x 1
100kg x f
85kg x 3

closer grip (little finger on ring)
60kg x 6
70kg x 3
80kg x 3

supprisingly it actually felt easier with closer grip

SLDL:
bar x 6
60kg x 8
100kg x 8
120kg x 6
135kg x 6 PB Grin

atleast i got one PB today

oh yeah and then i went on to do some peck deck to punish my weak chest

thank you! i thought the front squats were pretty crap though i only started doing them because my back squat is so bad i thought id get my front squat good haha

With the closegrip feeling more comfortable, how wide do you normally bench? I found it more comfortable switching to a narrower grip.

usially with my index finger on the rings. i allways fail right at the bottom so i think my chest is the weak one

Fairly high rack pulls (a bit above the knee):
180kg x 5
200kg x 6
220kg x 8 PB Happy

By this time my left pec was hurting but I stupidly ignored it

Did some DE bench and at 60kg f**ked my left pec and it still hurts now. Don't know what happend but it was still aching from wednesday

close grip incline:
3 sets up to 60kg x x 3. i was supprised at how week my incline was

DB rows 3 x 8 at about 30kg

tricep pushdowns 3 sets of 8

lateral raises 3 sets of 8

my chest is way the weakest part when i bench, i allways fail at the very bottom of a rep, never at the lockout. would i be a prick to think that pec deck type things will help? because unless someone convinces me otherwise then i may have to resort to that

That last set was horrible, first rep was ok, remaining 4 reps were hell. Poor form and too much rest inbetween reps but I did it.

Finished off with 3 sets of 10 reverse machine flies

If you fail off your chest it is more likely a technique problem than 'weak pecs'.

yes it could well be that. i have improved my technique a lot recently and it seems allright but it is a strong possibility

a few cleans at 60kg

oh yeah and the gym finally has one of those back raise machines so i bossed that a bit. very happy! thank you routine stolen from tom martin!
