agree with JC. but you could do some more core work

Will is solid on yoke, which in my opinion is the ultimate core test, so I don't think it's a core stability problem.

the activation of the core in yoke walk is different when deadlifting because of the range of the body goes though in the movement, so IMO it would be goof to do more functional core training so that the core can be as strong as possible when going through this movement

im not really having a problem with dl neil its oh, yoke and stones which f**k it up. TBH I cant really see myself being motivated to do all that core stuff. these back stretches/exercises feel like they might be doing something so im going to stick with them.

Well bud if you change your mind a can sugest some good exercisesGrin

Training today:

Farmers walk (20m course):

70kg for 40m
90kg for 40m
110kg for 20m
125kg for 18m PB

Medley:

Drag - Tyre + 50kg for 20m x 2

Duck walk - 140kg for 20m x 2

Drag - Tyre + 50kg for 20m
+
Duck walk - 140kg for 20m

not a bad session. bit annoyed not to make the full 20 with 125. f**king grip. duck walk is tough, drag is tough, duck walk + drag is very tough! still, could do with more weight on both though.

whats the plan now mate in terms of nailing the englands events?
AvatarWILLSAN
I want to keep it pretty relaxed this time. main emphasis on deads and log press. a bit of running around every week for conditioning. probably not much yoke though as im not doing in competition for the forseeable. wont bother with the stones too much until after barnard castle as my weakness is off the floor so im hoping the work im doing on deads will help that. not really sure how im going to train for the tyre TBH. might have to be an 'alright on the night' job. thanks mate. progress feels slow but thats probably me being impatient. I think the problem is that my speed and strength have increased alot but my grip progress is slow. if I could hold onto the bas***ds long enough I think I could put up some semi respectable times.

Just a thought mate but when i watched your vid, when you pick up the farmers the front end dips forwards.

IME with the farmers (which isnt great) ive found that picking them up with my hands further forwards on the handles so the back end dips down is much less taxing on the grip and makes the turn easier

May be totally wrong but has worked for me
