Didn't know there was one. If anyone ever lets me know details I'll try and get over. If not I'll just continue training for the zombie holocaust.

Lol

There isn't but it's a good idea, don't you think?

I do. I think it would make a great spectacle and would push many to pass what they usually do in training. Nothing quite so funny as watching fat blokes in lycra sweating cobs whilst bent over a bucket spewing their rops up.
I've heard it mentioned at a few gyms as a Xmas do. I'll get to as many as I can do. I think any DB or similar are great for people who have never tried them, to get over confident and struggle like f**k. At this stage I refer you to my point above. Grin

Thanks Aaron. Are you just doing 1 particular weight and rep direction? May need mixing up a bit mate. Can you pass 16 with 55k?

I went up to 70kg and got 14 rounds I think last week I dropped it to 60kg thinking I would blitz past my pb of 16 but it didnt happen, Ive kind of hit a wall with it because I have been doing it 2-3 times a week. I need to be doing something else for a bit.

Having said that DBDL has definately made me fitter, I did a 2 mile run the other week and wasn't out of breath.

Yep, that was from the 2007 North West championships.

I don't think you have hit a wall mate if you are doing it 2-3 times a week. You have just got a bit stale. Why not try 2 sessions all upper body and no back/ legs then give it a go again. Also, do it first. If you still struggle have another leg/ back break then try 60k 20 reps down to one. If you want to do this stuff 2-3 times a week then consider going 1 to 10 then back down again. It doesn't quite screw with you the same as either of the 20 rep variations.

For some reason Aaron has a 'Mick Ashurst thumb' shaped arse hole apparently. I think the avi is photographic evidence. Eek

The recovery continues.
Bag
3 mins on 30 secs rest x 8

Getting plenty packed into the 3 minute rounds now which is nice. Breathing good. More there again but struggled getting my hands to head height in round 8 so stopped there.

First day for 10 days back on the commute tomorrow. Tyres pumped up, lights charged, helmet polished, forecast = rain. Yay.

Yesterday
Commute in/ home 20 mile - rusty, it's dark in the morning now and it's all a bit of a rush

Today
Commute in/ home 20 mile - bit better, it was dark on the way home tonight, but set the alarm 15 minutes early so the morning included a more leisurely fasted dog walk and a comfy coffee with cream.

Sometimes it's nice to have the company of an old friend -
Clean
60x3
90x2
110x1
120x1
130x1
140x1

DL
130x3
160x3
190x3

Press
60x3x5 shoulders a bit clunky so did these very slow up and down.

Pretty much recovered from last week now I think. That's good.

Bag session
3 mins on 30 secs off x 12 rounds.

I could fight for a world title now as long as the champ didn't move or hit me back. I still fancy getting this to 15 rounds a couple of times then I need to break it up a bit.

Birchwood Forest Park.

During my daily morning fasted dog walk I had my daily fasted encounter with the miserable looking sod hunched over slowly plodding to work. Every weekday for the last 7 months I've given him a fasted yet cheery "Morning" to a silent response. Nowadays even my dogs ignore him, but I persist. Today my sistence paid off.
"Morning" in my fasted cheeriest voice.
'Urrgh. Morning'

His voice didn't sound like I expected it would. It wasn't miserable or grufty, but like a slightly deeper Joe Pasquale, but that doesn't matter. His voice is only the vehicle for the message, and the message was heard.
Today is a good day.

I'd give Small's word some gravitas here.

It takes one to know one so he probably is a c**t
