Cheers Ste and Shawn. Just glad to be competing!

Enjoyable competition yesterday. Mr Preece sure does like to make the events hard!
That's the way it should be anyway.

TRUCK PULL (slightly uphill) 1 st place.

Only managed about 9.5 m and as I was 2nd on I was a little concerned. Anyway in the end it was enough!

WAGON TYRE DEADLIFT (260 KGS) 1 st place.

I was last on so I knew what I needed to win. Big Lee doing us both a favour stopping at 9. Did 10 reps but had bags of time left to do more.

THICK HANDLED 130 KGS FARMERS. 20 M. 1st place.

Tripped up about 1 metre from finish. Went again and finished in the quickest time. Felt like I was going over for a try!

LOG PRESS 115 KGS C+P. Joint 1 st.

First 3 reps flew but just got the 4th and just missed the 5th. Lack of c+p work didn't help here because I was really blowing out of my arse. Mark's log has handles which are a few inches wider and I always find this harder anyway.

SHIELD CARRY (190 KGS) 20 M COURSE. 2nd place.

Made 2 laps. Really messed up my 2nd turn almost tripping up over the cone. Hammies were feeling really tight by now so didn't see the point of risking another torn muscle so I bailed out.

ATLAS STONES 120 KGS AND 130. ONTO BARRELLS 15 M APART. 2nd place

Got 11 reps. Should have done more really but conditioning let me down here.

Got 1 st overall and had an 8 point lead over Lee B who performed well, much better than the Wythenshaw heat. His deadlift looked solid, he could of managed a good few more reps. The farmers which gave him problems last time he completed with only 1 drop and looked quick on the stones getting 10 reps.
The final looks like it's going to be a good one with possible entrants being Mark Felix, Mark Westaby, Rob Framton and a competitor from Eastern Europe.
I need to pull my sock's up big time so I don't show myself up because there's some quality lads who have got through the qualifiers also.

AvatarRobbo
Congrats mick. Awesome stuff!
AvatarTony
You deserve it Mick.

Did you come away with any weird injuries?
AvatarJoni
awesome performance mate.

Lets see the finals NAILED!
MrSmall
AWESOME STUFF Mick bout time you dominated a comp or three.

Good work big man!
Avatarmickashurst
Thank's fella's! Need to do more event work me think's.

Tony - No daft injuries! LOL

Defo did the easier heat of the 2, no disrespect to yesterdays competitors. I would have had to perform better against the likes of Jack, Nathan, Shawn and Scot to keep up!
