Well yes, it would be pretty good if I wasn't wearing straps! Grin My best snatch grip DL is 240 (also with straps), done a bit before xmas.

My best hook grip is 200kg on the conventional deadlift. Happy Thanks Luke!

Inconsistency (with eating and training) is my bane again. I need to get this under control if I'm ever going to achieve anything lifting-wise.

- stretches
- warmups
- light snatches with squat down
- cleans from dead stop/hang up to 80 x 3 which weren't terrible
- deadlift up to 250 x 1 failed second rep (need to be tripling this!)

Excellent and highly enjoyable session today with Luke at the University of Essex! (one's old school, dontchaknow, pip pip tooddle-oo). In hindsight I should have pushed the weight a bit more but Luke PB'd enough for both of us today!

Some light ones, then under Luke's supervision I did my first ever split jerks, reps with 70/75 and 80 I think, missed 85 twice?. Finished with a couple of power jerks with 85 (though apparently the first of these was neither a split jerk nor a power jerk)

120 x 1

140 x 1
160 x 1

- squat (1 pause, 1 non-paused)
50 x 2
70 x 2
100 x 2

160 x 1 paused PB

- behind neck press
up to 35 for three sets

- some pullups from dead hang (easier than they have been recently).


As above, had a really great time and Luke is a top chap! Lovely facility and there are some other options for weightlifting in our area, so hopefully this will be the first of many such sessions.

Onwards for the moment, must keep up the built momentum starting on the morrow!
