» 330kg deadlift for 7 reps at 86kg (junior and raw but wit straps and belt) (Go to post)11-11-2013 @ 21:08
220x7 is strong, and looking in good shape too.

Im quite surprised that didn't do 10+ though, after seeing your 280 pull first.

Iv done 8 at 220 before with deadstop reps but could of maybe managed 260x1 at the time.

Decent session but that deadlift pb jst seems to be escaping me atm.
Plan is to train differently for the next couple of weeks and then try work up to some heavy weights again.

Bench and overhead is usually affected the most for me and squats and deads go down too but to a lesser degree. Usually when i regain the weight i will hit pbs straight away

Probably will be day before. Depends if he is able to put it back on. Dan green is someone who regularly looses probably more than 10kg before a meet, but in a couple of meets he has underachieved in comparison to what he was capable of, in other meets he has managed it spot on.

Yeah 23, gonna be interesting to see what he squats at the comp.

Im gunna guess 410 and miss or skip 3rd attempt. He's got 9ib of bodyweight to drop so depends how he handles that. He is usually 275 leading up to the meet and doesnt drop weight.

Did notice that he said he is planning on moving up to 308 eventually.

Congrats, looks like you had an awesome day and no injuries which is a big bonus.

Make sure you get some videos up during your euros build-up.

Went to England Vs Ireland yesterday, was a pretty big crowd at the galfarm, think attendance was just over 25,000. Easy win for England, hopefully the same against fiji.

Good luck with your goals paddy, you still going to compete in strongman or taking a break from that and doing PL comps only?

Yes deffinately all of the previous mentioned, especially re-doing the 500ib deadlift challange with a link in it.

If you look at all his recent vids, he averages between 600 and 1300 views except the comp day vid where he gets over 4k and one other vid. The 500ib deadlift challange vid he has like 13,000 views.

I Will also donate soon, despite being a badly paid apprentice.

» George Leeman on why he wears his belt higher than most. (Go to post)31-10-2013 @ 22:56

walker said:Isn't a belt worn to support your lower back? Where people get the most problems and injuries? I don't see the point in wearing it so high.

His analogy with the twig was stupid as the back is not straight and even at both ends.

As you will probably know, the idea of a belt is you push out your stomach against the belt causing intra-abdominal pressure, and for me if I wear my belt in the same place as most people then I cannot do this, if your not able to push your stomach against the belt then the belt is essentially doing nothing. If I move my belt up 3-4 inches though I can push my stomach against the belt properly and it's still protecting my lower back.

I personally wear my belt so that the bottom of the belt is in line with my belly button, where as most would have the top of their belt below there belly button.

Iv always worn my belt high, simply because the first time i used it this is where it felt best. Didnt realise i was wearing it high untill others .e tioned it.
