Trained at a different gym today to try some equipment i have been looking at for when i get my garage gym. Tried an IPF spec combo rack and hated it! Not use to the instability which made unracking and racking squats hard. Dropped the bar on ma last set whilst re-racking and was lucky not to injure my shoulder. Good to use a better bar though as i hate using the weightlifting bars they have at my normal gym

Good shout

Yer good shout, can't believe that his highest training squat was 60kg less than his third attempt (under 90%).

Whenever belkin puts videos up on IG they always seem to be very easy lifts, i wonder if his approach is the same

Totalled 1100kg i think

440 squat
270 bench
390 deadlift

I think the bench was his opener but it was quite a pause. Missed a 402.5 deadlift right at the top due to grip, think this would have given him the win.

Im guessing odell won? Any ideas what belkin totalled?

Eddie hall said it in a recent training video with licis. You could have 3 finals with different events and there would be 3 different winners. Last year had only 1 static event and the moving events etc where not that heavy.

For example the overhead medley, the log 1rm of thor and kiela isnt much different, but with a 160 log thor still seems to take a long time to get himself stable and press it. On all the overhead stuff kiela seems to have very good co-ordination and stability and just seems to throw up the lighter weights

Eventually, people go downward from a peak, though one performance totalling 937 (I assume you means this one), was enough to win his comp. Sometimes, winning the comp is all that's needed for the effot.

People are stronger when they are peaked but this is a massive difference and peaking is usually done multiple times a year for comps so that is definitely not the case here, he also bombed out of his last meet (IPF worlds) as he couldn't get his squat opener.

And yes his total was enough to win but im pretty sure his goals are to keep improving his total every meet not just win.
