Whilst the pinicle of strongman generally requires the athletes to be 6'3 plus, weigh 160kg plus and take more drugs than Andreas Munzer to be competitive, then you are never going to see an overarching governing body (like the IOC) take control as there is no way they could put the name to a sport with such prerequisites.
Assisted from that, there are too many strongman organisers that all have their own vested interests.
See what happenef to powerlifting in the USA and how they ended up with seemingly 100's of different federations

What im kind of getting at is someone like WUS who are already funding strongman events and helping athletes despite all of the drugs. Be nice for them to havs control of all the events in a year. A league type platform with one or two large Final competitions and bigger money.

So basically trying to prevent what has happened to powerlifting (untested more so).

That worked really well for powerlifting...

In what way does it not?

There doesn't seem to be such thing in untested but the IPF seems pretty good for the natty guys, if only it had better funding and it was a bit more entertaining

I think Brian has done well with YouTube, and he’s a very likeable guy.

Brian has a better way with words than eddie and comes across better, he comes across well in this video but lets not forget how he constantly moans about every competition that he does not win.

Not only did eddie set the silver dollar record with no other competitors and not in front of a massive crowd but Brian must be forgetting about his dinnie stone record.

This current situation is something that probably won't happen for another 20-30 years and so is not just a gateway for records to be broken in athletes gyms as usually there is a big comp every 2-3 months so there is no excuses normally.

Yes there should be a governing body that looks over the whole of strongman (fibo, wus, wsm, arnolds etc) and hopefully WUS can do this as they seem to look after the athletes.

The thing is, eddie did 500 at europes, if it got cancelled could he have done it 6 months later or was it something he only had one shot at? He got very close to the log record but never tried again. With that in mind its easy to see why athletes are taking there chances if they feel that they are in the right shape and might not be able to reach those standards again.

The next competition now might be worlds where a torn hamstring or a nerve problem in the shoulder is all it takes to stop any possible future attempt at those records or simply being past there career peak

» Training at home - Advantages and Disadvantages (Go to post)29-03-2020 @ 10:57
Always wanted a home gym and after having the little one its made it so that i get more time with him and can still train. I always use to train straight from work (5pm) but now i train once he has gone to sleep (8pm).

The only thing is lack of space for equipment. I was going to use my tax return this year to buy some more stuff but il need that money now to cover the bills because of no wages
