Friday 19th March 2010 (with Kenny & Hixxy)

Log Cleans (& a press or two)

70kg x 5
80kg x 5
90kg x 5
105kg x 5
110kg x 1 + 1 press (grinder)
110kg x 5
115kg x 1 + 1 press (better)
115kg x 5
120kg x 1 + F press
120kg x 4 + 1 F

Thanks to Si(ovrhyl) for the tips given at Sugdens, massive improvement given that I had been struggling to do 110kg for one a few ago!

Stones

Run: 115kg to 56", 140kg to 52", 160kg to 48" x F
160kg to 48" (PB)
160kg to 52" x 5 or 6 fails

Really enjoyable session, especially after s**t training last night. Kenny & Hixxy both smashed up some PBs!

yeah considering you said your pressing is weaker with the weight loss and the 115 was strong considering your pb is 116 im sure you have nothing to worry about

They are only cleans T (with 2 presses snuck in), its not like am banging out 115kg for triple like you are!

The "secret" for me was just doing what everyone else does and keeping the log in close to my body by drawing my elbows back and rolling it up. Even when I had tried it that way before though it hadn't worked, but soething just clicked today.

Your base level of strength and rapid progress on events is scary mate, you've acheived more in 3 months than I have in 3 years - GIT!

Sunday 21st MArch 2010

Tabata Style Kettlebell

16kg 1 arm swing for 10 secs Right, 10 secs Left, 10 secs recovery x 12 (6 mins)

Not as bad as I expected (was blowing at the end though), next time a heavier bell or more likely (given that the only other bell is 32kg) a longer duration.

Bodyweight 108.5kg (with breakfast, light lunch and fluids inside).
