Irritatingly, and stupidly, while I was well on that road in the Before Times, I lost my way rather in lockdown and have undone most of my good work. This needs to change. That said, I am a lot fitter than I was, but I'm still too big.

I'm amazed she hasn't slapped you upside the head. I can scarcely imagine the audacity of telling one of my grand parents off. Caring for someone is well and good, but it doesn't give you the right to run their life. If she's well enough to walk through the woods then she's perfectly entitled to make that decision for herself.

I spend about 2-4 hours outdoors every day, be it fishing, going to the woods for firewood, faffing about in the garden, loading 40x50kg sacks into a trailer... I have also found myself to be a bit of a food snob in my time in the UK, thinking over things that I never once thought of - just eating local stuff when it's in season. My gran is 89 and I have to tell her off as she wants to go to the woods to get some stuff, but I leave her to do her own gardening and walking. My only issue is I smoke 8-10 a day, which I SHOULD stop but... that sounds like a pretty damn good lifestyle (apart from the smoking)

Hyrox, Crossfit, etc. Also on getting as lean as I can within a healthy range. I’ll wake up around 90.5kg tomorrow. I want to get to mid 80’s and around 10% body fat. I’m taking vit D, C, Cod Liver Oil and Creatine daily now. Fitness and health is my serious focus these days. What else is there?

still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14374 posts | EDCLARKE said:given that coronavirus seems to hit Bigger people harder and power lifting and strongman encourage you to gain weight , anyone considered loosing a bit of timber for the sake of health ? Yep, almost immediately, as soon as the bad outcomes for heavier people reports came out. It was on the cards anyway so it all fell into place for me. 235lb end of March, 195lb now. 8" of waist gone, heading towards 15%bf. I may drop to 187 in 2021 to make the old light heavy class. I was that weight as a teen so at 50+ it's nice to still be there abouts, but there won't be no comeback. I did get rushed into hospital in the summer as the GP and nurse shat themselves whilst I was having my old age MOT and thought I was having a heart attack of some description. Several hours of tests later and the head cardiologist asked me if I do any exercise and from that point the penny began to drop with them. All part of life's experiences. Bottom line, I wasn't having a cardiac and was told to keep doing what I was doing. result.

I'm taking vit D zinc and vit C , and eating healthier , i have a bit of a mental block with being slim as i got a lot of s**t at school for being skinny , but i'm gradually coming round to the idea that being slimmer is not only massively beneficial to your health but life is just f**king easier when you weigh less.

Mask it or Casket !! Member 4600, 8166 posts SQ 240, BP 162.5, DL 255657.5 kgs @ 90.5kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 30.12.2020 @ 11:36 AM by dannyboy73 Indeed. At the start it was apparant that being heavy increased individual risk of poor outcomes. More than anything, Ive wanted to get back into martial arts so the first lockdown was the excuse i needed. So, as a result I altered my training (training which has only served to injury me these past years): Yoga daily 15-30 minutes ma training daily if possible weights done 3 x week mainly 2 sets of everything that will help me with my martial arts. the effect is that my weight dropped naturally from 13-14 stone down to 11.9 and i am now in the intermediate class along with my son whom i am very proud of for his efforts. i am now looking well and feel like a new man. as you say Ed, size is armour and loosing that armour takes courage. Therefore, I can fully understand why people havent been able to let go of it without a great struggle. Grandad Goatse Member 2494, 5035 posts SQ 120, BP 110, DL 125355.0 kgs @ 67kgs UnEq | I'd already gone down the calisthenics route rather than heavy lifting, but this did get me back to taking more vitamins regularly. I do still struggle with keeping my diet clean, but I manage to maintain my bodyweight even when eating a bit crap.

A minority not understanding that immunity doesn't pick up for a while and won't be reliable until second dose is going to happen everywhere. Unfortunately.

When she falls over because she's going down a steep hill in her slippers, then picking stuff from a ravine, it's gonna be me looking after her. I slipped twice the other day on a ravine and I'm surprised I haven't broken a wrist the number of times I've fallen. She's not well enough to walk through the woods. I let her get on with the rest of her stuff but draw the line at what I feel is dangerous for her.
