What is a deadlift btw?
Do you lift the weight from the floor to overhead?

No, it's to see who can lift the heaviest dead person off the floor. I hear Pavarotti is the starting weight.

Has the deadlift overtaken everything?

Europe's strongest man Is seen as the sideshow, while the deadlift is the main event.

Should be the other way around.

Thor will win the show, but the deadlift is all most fans care about, other Tha hardcore strongman fans.

Just because everyone's talking about such a monumental lift. If Hall and Magnusson weren't aiming for the first 500kg in history then there wouldn't be so much hype about it.

I Would rather see a max squat to depth, no suits.

If it was a real priority they could do a PL competition. Happy Gym lifts in strongman are boring. At least add something that makes it more about brute strength and less about persnickety judges. (->straps and hitching for deadlifts)

But that's just like, my opinion, man.

It does seem strongman has lost some of the variation that made it a great spectator sport. Standardised kit and events must be better for the athletes' though

As for the 500kg deadlift who knows. Eddie looks confident but I'm still struggling to comprehend it!

As for placing's

Eddie
Benni
Jerry, Loz and Terry close battle for 3rd

Look at his recent 400kg.
He looks not to be in shape for a deadlift like last year.
