He isn't even the Usain Bolt of deadlift.

Bolt on top form is unbeatable...we've just spent 8 pages discussing who is going to win.

Shaw and Benni have both beat him recently.

To have an Usain Bolt of strength sport you would need a guy that would break squat, bench and deadlift wr, win wsm and do it whilst not even training hard and in style. Would also do it at a younger age just because his genetics are that good.

Megatron would do it if we could use bands.

Remind me when Ed was last beaten by Benni in a DL comp? Dropping 461 doesn't count in 2014 that was a draw. And Shaw has never beaten him off the floor for max.

If Giants Live want 500kg to go, Hall will do it.

Shaw could of at The Arnolds. Granted he didn't.

In a suit Ed is better, but Shaw is stronger raw.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda... He looked like his lifts were smoother, but the result was that Ed won.

Perhaps Raw, maybe, but as Sam has said Shaw has never beaten Ed for max unless you count the hummer setup. In this comp though, anything goes, so suits can be used. Ed has said he now knows how to use a suit properly, so that could give him some extra oomph needed.

Shaw will win max deadlift at Wsm, were it counts. Don't think he is overly bothered about one strength discipline world record.

Shaw's deadlift was clearly stronger at Arnold's, he beat him for reps at WSM...Ed is good at reps you stated so in a few posts back.

Ed isn't way ahead of the pack in deadlift, if at all.

In the last two years...

Benni beat him at the deadlift comp 2 years ago
Shaw beat him at hummer at Arnold's 2015
Shaw beat him at WSM 2015
Ed beat Shaw by about 1-2kg at Arnold's 2016 but max effort for Ed and Shaw's went up fast and smooth.

Just saw Thor's 420kg deadlift at the Arnold's Africa...he will be fine with another 5-6 week buildup to the Europe's.

The young Polish guy will be immense if he can improve his deadlift by a lot.

If Edd Hall retire after 500 kilo deadlift or wining WSM

then

i want him do it

simply because he doesnt carry 190 kilos bodyweight well

I think Z will win then retire from full competition.

He might do a max log event or two.

Benni didn't beat Ed in 2014 - they drew. Ed just dropped the bar once he completed the lift. If anything Ed's lift that day was easier.

In the Arnold's this year Shaw tore his hammy on his pull so how can you say it was smooth. An extra kilo or 2 could have ripped his hamstring off the bone.

The WSM setup last year wasn't normal deadlift bar. On an Okie Texas Bar with a suit and straps there isn't anyone close to Eddie.

I agree with Donnie that Ed looked better at 170kg. His recent vids suggest that this extra weight may be giving him a little extra strength now.

Strange on here every 1 criticises and doubts are own lifters but supports shaw and z and every 1 else more. If he does it im sure people will be saying if shaw wanted to he could of done it to or if he breaks the log record people will say z could of done it if he was pushed more
