Not that a more static contest will favour Shaw, becasue hes not on point neither with strength nor with atletism.

Shaw is still in the mix but he lost the champion mindset. His best tools like deadlift and moving with heavy stuff are gone. Pressing is his strongest event now. Its time to move away.

Nimble said:Luke is incredibly strong and seems very humble and hard working, so very pleased for him. But this shouldn't be called Europe's strongest man. It discredits earlier winners. Kiels for example would still win this comp fairly easily. Novikov would make a big impact on the placings by doing well in some events. Heinla might well have won the deadlift for reps... etc. etc. I agree. Honestly i dont rememeber a certain ESM show from the last few years. What i find most interesting about this show is the 40kg difference in log from 1st to 2nd. But that record is not going to fall soon, not in a full competition.

And I think Thor will KO Hall. No idea how but he's Icelandic warrior.

Mikeneto said:I think Biby can press the most but clean the least. By the time the log lifting happens i think they will all get it. When some of them breaks the record and wins WSM, ESM or ASM at the same competition, we might talk about. Until then it remains a "specialized" event training. Zydrunas Savickas is God.

Why people look at this event as a boxing match? It's a freak show. They will never shrink to 120 kg range. Bigorexia for life.

Thats bulls**t but Z earned it, you know Z's records have always been locked out, some of them not controlled at the top. This lift was never locked. Luke takes a lot from his legs, i am sure hes not in Z pressing league, but obviously his technique works a lot. He will take it soon.

Compared to Spoto or Sarychev it was a big difference! Thats why i think these guys are a little bit more healthier and can carry massive weight all year. Muscles require more oxygen.

Mikeneto said: If Biby gets the log record and decides full strongman comps aren't for him(not that he does much anyway) and went for a big bench...where do you think he would land? Hard to say, some strong overhead pressers are not that great benchers and vice versa.

Nimble said: Each to his own, I suppose. Both mind boggling but I’d take the deadlift for sure. I suppose, in terms of pure strength, I’m most impressed by heavy logs and yokes, that sort of thing. Like Arnold’s a few years back. Why deadlift? There are 2 men with 500 and maybe a few more will join in the next couple of years. But 360 bench? It's decades ahead

Biby must be ready for 240 log then. 360 raw bench vs 500 suited deadlift I take bench any time |
