Agree with the grip. Credit were its due, grip is real impressive.

Paul your a pretty big guy and look like you have good level of strength for sure. Why don't you compete at 105s mate? Not saying you can't make 90 but it will drain you and you would struggle to hold onto strength never mind get stronger.

Its obviously up to you but I think with the right type of training you could be a good 105kg strongman.

Just been looking on YouTube for Paul's videos. I actually found one where he is actually dead lifting! He got very excited at having lifted 230k. I thought you were aiming for 300k x 10 Paul? Where is the evidence you can pull more than 230k?

Everybody can make excuses for comp days, but most don't as they just realise it is what it is. I've got a list as long as my arm, as I'm sure everyone else has. You haven't done anything to remotely suggest you could win any comp, let alone a world championship at a weight you've never competed at before. Pure crack pipe I'm afraid, just like the log goal.
Anyway, I'm going to try to stop posting negative stuff in here as it is a pure waste of everybody's time.
Good luck with your lifting and competing. Hopefully I'll see you in a comp again one day.

Exactly everyone has bad luck on comps, most guys can do 110 stone for 13 and beating guys in the qualifier wasn't that a novice comp?

What the f**k is a hyper deadlift??? Does anyone else in the world do them?

This log is full of total silliness.

I dont have much choice with broken foot but pete rubish does them so must be good for something. His best is 425lb and he has done an 800lb x 2 beltless deadlift. I've done 353lb x 5 on them so far, is not too bad.

I've always been up and down in opens because my deadlift (especially side handle which i have had most comps) and shoulder strength, or lack of, would place me dead last, but then i could go an win the next event. I have also had a lot bad luck with little stupid things costing me a bunch of points, like one time they had a skip medley which is an event i should be top 3 in if not win but i was out first and i didnt realise you were allowed to hook the 100k chain to the side of the skip before lifting it in / after me an the other guy went everybody hooked it to the skip as they couldnt lift it in otherwise then instead of a possible first i end up second last beaten by people failing to load things i could do reps of. Other times i have had equipment failure like bar bent on me doing squats so was wobbly as all hell or when they set the hercules hold wrong only for me TWICE, i had do it a second time then at minute 10 they say it was touching floor again so i have let go and then i didnt win. Also made some stupid mistakes just not knowing the trick with different equipment but have learnt a lot so is what it is. I wuld say has been 4 or 5 times have shown what i can do, stones no tacky loading onto barrels 5m apart 100 and 110k did 13 reps easy 1 motions, arm over arm completed when nobody else finished half the course, carry and drag medley where i beat the best time in all 3 qualifiers by over 3 seconds, an anvil carry beating all inters and opens despite injury come to mind. Overall i really have not managed to get my best on the day yet, is still to come. Have podium couple times but never won yet.
You are not factoring in that 110 double was 2009 an although have had lot of knee and shoulder problems since am stronger now. Have no doubt i could have done 130k log last i tried with jerk practice an was around bodyweight i am now.

You really are full of s**t and excuses

Have you ever done a national level qualifier, at any weight? Have you f**k, cause your full of s**t and actually doing a national qualifier might make you actually realise this...

Very good national level guys have tried to help you in this log, but you just rhyme off a load of excuses as to why youve acheived nothing in SM as yet

The one comp i known youve actually done, you got butt f**ked by some good 105 guys and some very average 105 guys.....but im sure youve plenty excuses for that

I think its about time you cut the s**t, and actually do something at least.above average in SM for your weight

- 230kg deadlift x 10
- 200kg x 10 axle squat
- 160kg farmers 25m
- 370kg yoke 20m
- 180kg stone load no tacky
- 400kg tyre flip rep sets easy
- 170kg sheild carry 80m easy
- 130kg axle floor to overhead

These are all things i have done, if done at 90 you wouldnt consider this to be good level? I am sure i can do all these and over at u90 with the right training.

That's great and all but instead of focusing an bettering yourself you are trying to bring others down - whats the point of that?

You had to run 5m between each stone load though an no tacky. I could probably had done 20 reps one motion on 110 stone at that point. I think that's pretty decent, especially if i could do it at u90.

Were any of these done at 90kg though, or at a considerably higher bodyweight?

what you're saying is basically like me saying I'd piss all over the 47kg women's class in any international competition with my lifts. Unfortunately the chances of being a 47kg woman are about on the same level as the chances of you being 90kg or less.

Honestly i dont get what the problem is, if i want be world champion at 90 whats the issue? It's a goal, it's not like am going around saying im the best at this an that like some bellend, i wouldnt do that if i was world champion. I should aim lower? Why? Whats it matter to you if i fail like f**k? setting big goals motivate me and like it or not, i do think i have a chance of making it happen.
