Getting stronger on all this other stuff is all well and cool, but do you think there is carryover to the squat and deadlift? If so, how do you know without doing them?

I think that is the main thing people are sceptical about.

We'll see, i hope so but its just building a base and more well rounded body to prevent future injuries at this point.

Pretty sure you don't squat at work, even if you do shift carpets or whatever it is you do.

I do squats, deadlifts and presses more than probably anybody on the site as i do them in my day job 50 hours a week. For this reason i always know whats strong and whats not an can say deadlifts are strong, presses strongest they have ever been and squats are ok but not great. Got to remember it's not just for gainz in those lifts though, it's also for injury prevention and to bring up lagging areas.

You talk some f**king s**te Paul!

this part

the fact you think you're doing functional squats, zerchers, DL's, OH press by lugging some carpets about is quite frankly laughable

No, what's laughable is you have no f**king idea what you are talking about, yet are telling a guy his job that he's done for a decade. I literally do squats, deadlifts and presses the same as you or anybody else does on a bar, it's just with a rounded grip most of the time. Also lifting a carpet is no different than lifting a stone, so by your genius comment, stone lifting is also 'laughable'.

I don't think may people make the claim that training Atlas Stones brings on their squat and deadlfit

Man, I knew it was only a matter of time before you busted out the "hater" nonsense. You don't have "haters", who are you, Beyonce? You just have a bunch of guys wondering why you feel you are different to everyone else in that you think your work and weird exercises in the gym will bring on the most basic of movements, the squat and the deadlift, whereas 99% of the rest of the world who does these exercises and is good at them does these exercises often without any other replacements.

Surely if you're doing squats, presses and deadlifts for 50 hours a week in your job (with a rounded back I gather?) as you say you do, you can quite easily do some ACTUAL squats, presses and deads in the gym with a real bar for a couple of extra hours a week instead of doing all the useless machine work?!

Or on the flip side, if you are doing that stuff at work, why are you going to a gym to do it?
