Cheers guys. I was pretty pissed off though. Cheers for putting it up Carl.

Hi Marc, I normally compete equipped in comp, although I am going unequipped in the next one to see what I can do. I have however competed equipped and not lifted in the suit. Im not sure if I get much, if at all from the suit. I would say 5 kgs tops.

Roll on next monday and a 300 pull.

Yep and Carl has told me he will be in town to train with me which will be cool. Im annoyed now because watching that video it looks like I gave up way too early. But then perhaps its not good to do "grinders" in the gym.

Cheers for that Carl. Definately something worth looking in to. Now I just have to raise some dosh Confused

Todays training;

Seated military press;
20x20
60x8
100x6
100x6
100x4 will nail 6 next week!

EZ bar curls
20x12
40x6
62.5x6
62.5x6
62.5x6 these got a little loose towards the end.

20 mins stairs, 6 mins rowing, 4 mins skipping.

Felt a bit hot and bothered tonight, not sure why, I certainly wasnt brimming with energy. Next stop squats on wednesday, and a heavy triple planned with 210.

Thats good, not too far away then. Matt Saunders wont be there so Im predicting a battle between me and Jules Vowles, unless of course someone else comes out of the woodwork, which has happened to me before. Mind you, its only provisional so its still too early to make training plans! Cheers for the info Marc Happy

It would be if I had done it lol!

Tonights training;

Squats
60x10
100x8
140x5
180x3 belt from this set onwards
205x1
210x2 failed a 3rd. I wasnt too pissed off actually. The guy I had spotting said they were way below parallel. I really thought I would get a 3rd, but when I got down in the hole then come up a bit it just stalled and I had to dump it in the rack.

Front squats
132.5x6
132.5x6
132.5x5 failed a 6th

Standing calf raises
100x8
310x6
310x6
310x6

Not a bad session, but I really am not fond of missing reps. I think now I will taper down the volume of my workouts a bit, maybe just do 1 set on the assistance work, we will see. Although I still have to chin 3x6 on 33.5 to see an improvement and I have my heart set on doing 100x3x6 on military press.

A question for anyone who feels like replying: do I do too many reps on warm ups? I read quite a few journals on here and it seems that a lot of lifters do fewer reps than me for warm ups, maybe Im doing it wrong?

Still some top raw squatting that Phil.

If I was warming up for 210 triple (one day in the future Grin) I would have done what you did to start but maybe 170x3 190x1 210x3, certainly the 205 seems a little too close to the top set to bother with.

Ok thanks for that mate, I appreciate you taking the time to answer Happy My reasoning behind me doing that single was to feel a weight close to what I was going to do for the working set, but may be you are right, perhaps it is a bit close to bother with. Cheers Rob.
