Cheers guys, taken on board Titch. Its a f**king ball ache watching a comp when you know you are lifting the next day. I feel pumped with adrenaline already.

Carl, they already put a stack of meat in the sub anyway. Ive been having chicken, cheese, lettuce and mayo footlongs all week! The girl behind the desk was pissing herself laughing when I said that "pickles" are called gherkins in England.

I couldnt possibly answer that as my Mrs is right next to me!

Right, my day didnt start as planned. I weighed 101.4 kgs first thing, and after a piss and s**t I still weighed 100.8. I did a prelim on the comp scales and was 1lb over. So I took off my socks and t-shirt and was 100kgs exactly! I got a bit carried away at last nights buffet!

Anyway, squat warm ups went well. I worked up to 250kgs. But I timed this wrong as my flight had already started and I literally had to put my wraps straight back on as I was due up. I opened on 270kgs and failed because I stumbled after the squat command so I didnt even get to squat. s**t. So I still went up to my planned 2nd lift which was maybe a bit stupid but I really didnt want to end up with less so I decided to just ignore the failed lift and carry on as normal. I did 285kgs which felt a bit harder than it should have in all honesty. But I got it in. Then I went 295kgs as I thought that this was my limit on this particular day. I failed this due to not being strong enough to lift it.

On to the bench press. My warmups went well. I worked up to 150kgs raw, then a double on 170kgs, of which niether reps touched. I then opened with 175kgs which went up a piece of piss. I went 185kgs again for an easy lift. Then I gained a pb by lifting 192.5kgs which was a solid lift, showing that the board work has really paid off.

At this point my sub-total was up 2.5kgs. I worked up to 260kgs on the deadlift in the warm up room. Then on the platform I opened up with an easy 280kgs. I went 295kgs for a good second lift. I then took 305 as my last jump and got it just past the knees but it wasnt to be on this occasion.

All in all I was pleased with my performance; it wasnt what I wanted but then it could have been a lot worse. I placed second to Matt Saunders in a field of 5 lifters. Matt didnt have a fantastic day by his very high standards, but he did 805kgs (I think) to win but he ripped his lat on his last pull which had he completed he would have earnt best overall lifter. This accolade went to Gerald Pilling, after being mistakenly given to an American!

I will take a week off, then build up for the divisionals on the 1st of March next year.
