If you pause it as soon as I take off it really looks like I should fall flat on my face

I'd like to see a video of yours and have a look through frame by frame to see if you end up in any of the same death defying positions I do....

And if not, then maybe you know how to improve distance?

Sort of I think, I did see something live and thought.... something new.

will more distance mean more power output?? I dont know and dont think so, but would be nice to improve on the long jump nevertheless.

one thing is for sure, there is tech in this!

As with all things, with better technique you can jump further without being more powerful. The only way to avoid that variable though, is to max out your technique, and then continue to jump further. Then it has to be power?

Once I get the technique sorted out then anything after that would mean power output has got better.

Im going to take the month of squats, can`t have them feeling like crap when I can train everything apart from sqauts pain free. and then see where they are at in the new year. Sounds like a plan, a rehab one at that. worked for you having the time off?

Replace them with something that does something similar without the pain? How are front squats? Heavier overhead squats?

The way I rehabbed them was by doing squats but with very little weight so there is no pain and gradually increase the weight in such a manner where no pain is experienced very slowly

Overhead squats no pain what so ever and no pain on anything else a part from back/front squats which is why I think I can get away with not doing them for a month or 2. quads and hammies will still be trained but more on the lifts and just not on the squats

overhead squats and snatch to replace back squats
jumps, hang power cleans, full and power cleans to replace front.

When I post the vids you will see that it is stupid to train though it and rest will be best for it in the long run.

Sounds good, but alongside that I would actually try to directly rehab back squats.

Maybe back squat 2x per week at the end of your sessions

Week 1 Session 1 - 20kg x 3 sets of 10
Week 1 Session 2 - 25kg x 3 sets of 10

And so on and so on 5kg at a time.

This worked for me...

Yes this was going to be my plan after the one month off squatting only because the bar is still putting it under strain and to start doing 20k 3x10 one week I would need them to be painless first. hypers and ab to add to the list of things to do too!
