Openers

SQUAT - 195k - slow but really sunk it on depth

BENCH - 125k - not as fast as I'd like but Mr Steel gave me quite a long pause...

Rest till comp day now.

Yeah it was a very unfairly long pause, but you got it and there's ovi no way you're ever gonna get a pause that long in a comp lol Grin

Looking good for the comp!

Comp day (technically yesterday now, but I haven't had a sleep yet)

SQUAT

192.5, 202.5, 207.5 Broke the record on my 2nd and 3rd attempts Happy

BENCH

135, 130, failed 132.5 - Felt my lower back "move" on third lift and went offline. Fought it but by the time I;d straightened up I had no energy left.

DEADLIFT

200, 212.5 - opted to pass on my third attempt after third bench saw my back tender and I got my target total with the 212.5

I got the target I'd set for myself for last year today. Hopefully now that i'm back in training again I'll be able to raise things a bit more.

The squats were a mixed bag - my 1st attempt was the hardest whilst my 3rd was easiest due to a delay in the competition starting, meaning I was cold again by the time my first attempt came round. I know I had a 210 or even a 212.5 in me today but I'll save them for next time... Just happy with the 207.5 - never attempted more than 202.5 until today (Slag me all you want but those walk outs work) Happy

A lot of very good lifting today. Well done to all Happy

You did great yesterday mate and when you consider you were very ill not long ago and missed loads of training it's even more impressive! Worrying as it is I recon you still have more there on the squats!!!

Yes mate you did very well and broke your own record twice, your squatting is good real good, technique nailed, weights can only keep going up!

Ross, Maca and Steel - thanks guys. I think I have got my technique working now and I WILL get a 220 in the next 12 months all going well.

Maca - if you look on riot and look at my zero DOMS squat routine post - that's the routine I made and followed this year. If I hadn't been ill and missed about 2 months of training I might have been shooting for a 212 / 215 yesterday. It worked for me and everyone I've had try it so far has had success with it.

I'm going to follow Steel's deadlift ideas once I start back and hopefully will see that raise a bit. Still, for a total of 7 deadlift sessions this year, I'm glad I got back to the same figure as this time last year Happy

Thanks Marc.

The squat was what I worked on after an absence from training due to illness. I wanted that to be better than last year which it was thankfully. My other 2 lifts were pretty much back to where they were last year, but considering that I couldn't even pull 200k a few weeks ago I was relatively happy.

You did well on Sunday. You doing the British this year?

Depends mate maybe I could pick your brain real quick.

Do I have to pay a separate membership to GBPF to compete/Will my total from last year act as a qualifier?

I am going to do the seniors as my first equipped comp. I would also like to crack the 700 mark by the end of the year.

I also want a house on the moon.
