Short blast on my way home.

DUMBELL SHOULDER PRESS

8@22, 8@26, 8@30, 5@34, 3@36 (on 2nd attempt - couldn't clean them the first time)

HEADSTAND AB FOLDS

2x6

DRAGON FLAG

2x5

5 minutes interval training on concept 2 then 5 minutes on the nautilus stairmaster (first time trying it - it goes too slow)

Nice shoulder work again.
What speed did you have the nautilus up at? When I did my 30 odd minutes above 100 spm I was breathing out my butt.

Don't remember mate but it didn't go any faster on the quickstart. Lol I was only on for five minutes though - not enough time to have cardio death. LOL

Reply (as Jack Nicolson's Joker)

Don't you ever squat in lycra? I just like the feel of it...

Nice session today:

DEADS

5@160 sumo, 1@180 + 1@200 conv - all raw (never taken anything above 192.5 raw before)

BARBELL ROW

10@70, 2x8@90

DUMBELL SHOULDER PRESS

8@22, 8@26, 8@30, 7@34 Rep pb by 2 with the 34s Happy

HEADSTAND AB FOLD - 2x6

DRAGON FLAG - 1x5

CONCEPT 2 - 1 and a half mins to warm up, 1 minute max effort concentrating on the pulling aspect then another 1 and a half minutes to warm down. Who needs 20 minutes steady state? Not me that's for sure

Nice session dude. Totally agree, steady state cardio sucks, you're much better with the high intensity stuff.

Welcome back Mr Steel. Long time no post... Yeah, I'm gonna add in a hi intensity cardio exercise at the end of each session I do at Lloyds. After this Wednesday I won't be able to swim for a while as getting a toenail excised, so need to put something else in till the thing heals up.
I'm hoping to be back at training a week on Tuesday, so effectively only going to miss 2 sessions - this Thursday and Saturday. Will depend on how it heals though.
I'm enjoying my shoulder work these days as well - never progressed with them as they always got injured, but I think I've sussed out why, so hopefully they'll remain injury free Happy
I normally do interval training for cardio when I do it (with the exception of when I was teaching classes) but I think that the short bursts at maximum effort will reap better rewards as even my intervals are a long way below maximal.

Last session for at least a week Unhappy Fecking toenails...anyway

SQUAT

6@150, 1@180 (both raw) 1@192.5 - no spotter so to speak so played it safe then a matrix at 85k which was still a little easy.

SEATED DUMBELL SHOULDER PRESS

8@24, 8@28, 8@32, 2@38 - was going to use the 36s but one was missing, and although I was apprehensive about cleaning the 38s, I managed it (just). I might have just managed a 3rd rep, but better to play it safe imo.

HAMCURL MACHINE

8@25, 8@40, 8@50

Not a huge amount content-wise, but it felt good and a pb on the dummies made it all the better Happy

was the 192.5 higher than before or what? How did it feel in comparison to last Tuesday?
Lovely big dumbell numbers.

The 192 was the weight I did beltless last week bro. I just wanted to do enough to keep me ticking over till our next session.
Cheers bout the dummies comment - I surprised myself tonight with that.
