Squats are back to where they were the last time I peaked already and the bench is 2 weeks out from potential pb. Got pb on deads for reps today, and that was off blocks, so my actual dead rep pb will also have gone up.

All in all, a good week Happy

Cheers guys. I definitiely think I'll stick with wider grip for bench now that I can work it without too much pain.
When I return on Saturday I'll be trying my sumo style deadlifts again. Gonna mess about with training days to see which works best for me - Tuesday and Saturday or Tuesday and Thursday.
So some irregular training patterns over the next few weeks. It'll be nice to do some light work again and concentrate on working my core again for a while.

All training done for the year - last night was my last session and I had to go light due to a very tight left hamstring, so no deadlifts over 190 - gutted Unhappy

The session I had on Tuesday this week was a bit better.

SQUATS

1x10@ 150 raw
1x5@170
1x2@180
2x1@190 - no spotters so didn't go any heavier

DEADS

1x5@160
1x2@180
1x1@200
1x1@210
backoff sets @ 150

I found a bar similar to the black bar at the PoA and liked it, so used it for both sessions this week. After my necessitated lighter session last night I spent a good bit of time on the foam roller - there are 2 new ones that are very firm upstairs - my quads got a tough rolling as did my hamstrings - not tight at all today Happy

Hope all you guys have a great time over New Year!

nice solo squat session mate I take it you eventually get used to heavier stuff after a 10 rep set? See you next week mate enjoy whatever you get up to.

Yeah - not been using the computer that much lately. Thought I'd best make an effort for the end of the year and all. lol

Yeah, that and all the core work. I'm gonna get the rest of them at David Lloyd doing headstand ab work before too long I reckon. Already seen one or two of them practicing headstands in the stretching area - not seen anyone else doing them on a bench as yet though LOL.

1st Session of 2011 - got cut short as gym closed earlier than expected, so will need to make up for the lack of deads on Thursday instead.

SQUATS

1x15@ 150 raw - was going for 20 but as I was hyperventilating I got the tingling in the forearms and stopped before my muscles went into spasm.

1x5@ 170

1x2@ 180

Not bad for session number 1 though. And, the black bar I used tonight was a proper Ivanko power bar, so at least I have the use of decent kit in the commercial gym now Happy

Cheers Steel. Physically, it was by far the hardest set, and way harder than 30@102.5...

I was slightly annoyed that I didn't keep going and get 20, but thought it safer and more prudent to stop before my arms gave way. (Plus my legs were starting to burn from the lactic build up) Next week I'll aim for 16 at the same weight, as well as my 6x6 which I reckon I'll start at about 160 or so - give myself a few easyish weeks to get eased back in properly and all Wink

Last week I reckon I could have done an easy 200. No chance of that tonight - legs felt totally creamed after the raw set. Glad I did it though - that wasn't far off my top squat in 2007. Lol
