Everything is great here mate.
Thanks Dave, I will be doing it fulltime (5 days a week) in the summer for 6 weeks or so, but that's all I can really do with it at the moment, except squat and pull, work a bit on my overhead stability etc. Don't have a place to regularly train cleans, snatches, jerks (s**t bars, or can't drop weights etc), which is annoying but can't be helped for now. I can do some jerks once a week really, but I'm trying to get my shoulders strong (see above), so they are not a huge priority.

Badtimes. Can you not train any oly stuff at olympic?

Can't drop the bar, can't get there more than once-twice a week, and I have a couple of strongman competitions coming up. It's not really bad times, but I am not going to learn to clean and jerk, and snatch, to a decent standard, by myself, once a week. So if I get stronger allround, improve general technique (posture, positioning) the rest of the time, it will put me in a good position to make more rapid improvement when I start doing them fulltime in the summer (and hopefully find some way to do them often as of sept).

I agree finding places to train can be a bit of a nightmare. At uni the gym has decent platforms and bumpers but only power bars that dont spin too well, at home I can get to a really good WL club, but they train 4 times a week and have nowhere to train the other days. Having your own place would be f**king sweet.

Hi mate, cant you train the oly lifts in the stone room at OSG? There is usually more room in there compared with Sunday and they have bumpers etc.

I could mate, but I can only really make 1 session a week at OSG, and with some comps coming up it will leave me in no mans land. Not enough sessions to improve the olympic lifts as much as I want, or not enough time to improve the events. All in good time my friend! Plus my shoulders aren't right anyway, so that ties in well since they will need a few more months.

They ARE the aim for the time being my overtrapped friend Grin
I want to book you in for a session 31st of April, OSG, for some greased lightning farmers and yoke training, Yorkshire's comp week after.

Jackass!
In other news:
I will be there from 10am on Saturday.
Big events session for me, only 2 left actually the way things are going to turn out.
So plan is this Saturday, get my harness pull technique down, do a bit of tyre+sled, do some loading. I feel confident in all of these but the harness pull would be good to get a bit of practise in. Tyre had no trouble with last year, don't see why I would this year, and have been doing a LOT of sled dragging so my fitness should be ok on that. I know how to shoulder a sandbag now, and have carried the 107kg keg for 20m at OSG, I will try and load that bad boy on Saturday.
And week before comp (the next events session!), axle deadlift, some overhead from blocks depending on shoulder, and maybe a bit of sled dragging to keep the fitness up.
Getting excited bout this one now, its caught up with me time wise but should be good!
