Squats looking strong mate!

165kg x5 for me usually means 200! At least 190 is there now, what else do you have to hang off your bar to make that up?

More kidney beans probably! Last couple reps were a little ugly so they won't transfer very far onto singles so I don't think I could bag 200 yet, but I'm happy with progress for sure! Belt is under the hobo jumper.

3 vids from this week. 110 on cleans and jerks, 90 on snatch.

Big progress on jerks, everything else solid too. Enjoy, loyal fans.

Those jerks are looking peachy Smalls! Massively improved from what they used to be like. I've felt your pain having had a poor jerk for years, however, yours now looks good whereas mine is still s**te!

Thanks fellas.

As a comparison here is me bombing with 110, 6 months ago. The power clean is not all that impressive as I was doing it badly and the bar wasn't landing in the right spot anyway so don't be fooled.

Big mental barrier on the stupid jerks simply because of how s**t they always have been before now. Plus little things like I didn't know how to rack it properly so it felt like a tonne, blacked out a lot blah blah blah. Depressing to watch but it needs to be done to see how far it has really improved! Cool as a cucumber now. If you see in the 110x3 jerk vid I have a hint of getting too wound up about it, take a step back, come back at it calmer and subsequently smash it.

Yeah i noticed in your latest vid. You also do a nice piano style thing on the bar with your fingers which is nice.

You even threw your belt afterwards! Wink

How were you not racking them properly? What do you do differently now?

Well mainly because I have a small upper body, I need to really get the bar in my neck almost to support things solidly and get an even leg drive going on (or I have just always done it wrong). What happened is once it got to around 100kg, it felt "heavy" and I gradually pushed it further away from my neck, so it was on the front of my shoulder more and in my hands more, so I couldn't get any even leg drive into it as I was leaning back a tiny bit to accommodate it which in turn made me go dizzy, it felt heavy, I had no balance to dip enough to drive it up blah blah blah. Same on the front squats. If you watch that 110x3 jerk video again I almost make that mistake again, but when I go to unrack I get it on my shoulders, then move it further into the right position, then actually unrack it, because I know what's what now. That old habit trying to creep up again but it got Savaged.
