Friday nights training :

deadlift 172.5kx5 comfy!
wide grip chins 3x8
10 mins backwards on the eliptical
tibialis raises 2x25
atg split squat x25


3x500m rows with 1 minute between at around 2.08 pace fluctuated a little between about 1.58 and 2.14 but mostly i kept it at 2.08 which was close enough to the 2.10 i was aiming for .
3x3 minute rounds on the heavy bag

monday 1 hour boxing training

Tuesday:
right arm dumbell press overhead 15kx5 22kx6 25kx5/5/4 left arm 12.5x5 (pain free yeah)
right arm close grip dumbell press 30kx10 35kx6/6/6 left arm 12.5kx5 (also pain free)
15k dumbell tricep extension 10/10/10
tricep pushdowns 10k 12/12
pull ups x10 plus 5kx10 plus 10kx6 plus 14 bodyweight rest pause
3x3 minute rounds on the bag

wednesday: 10 mins backwards on the eliptical tibialis rises 2x25 atg split squat 1 set 25 reps atg front squat bar x10/10/10/10
1x 500m row 1.50 (went off too fast and blew up at 400m )
3x3 minute rounds on the bags

thursday 1 hour boxing training followed by sparring my son for 3 minutes at the end

Friday: Deadlift 180kx4 then 3 singles with 180 with 1 pink band , 10 minutes backwards on the eliptical tibialis raises 2x25 , atg spit squat 1x25 , atg front squat barx3 40kx3/3
watched my son do 3x3minute rounds sparring with a more experienced boxer , he did ok .
got told to bring my gum shield next week as i'll be sparring Hurrah!

the fitness required to go a few rounds of sparring is quite the eye opener !!

after a few months of sparing I now have a new respect for boxers and mma fighters, Nothing ,more exhausting man alive they are fit to go more than 3 rounds...

cheers chaps , the boxing training has reawakened my desire to train and get fit , im absolutely loving it , both my sons come now so its a double bonus.

made myself a sled out of a pallet today to do backwards sled drags to bullet proof my knees
and a little contraption to do Nordics on as it has bruised my ego that i cannot do them at all .

went old farts boxing training Saturday morning which was ace , and then went clay pigeon shooting for the first time ever which was brilliant fun , mostly because much to my surprise i was quite good at it !

Turkey steron update.

I came second at yesterdays hyrox Manchester gaining a spot at the world championships , i knocked 8 minutes off my time from Birmingham (1:32 down to 1:24).

did the turkey steroids work ?? im not sure .... i was a kilo heavier but i was also 'on' creatine , I will be doing another one without turkey juice, so that will be the real test... i tend to think they are probably the same as taking tribulus or even the same product repackaged


one last thing: I would totally think about doing an actual 8 week course of test just to see how f**king awesome i would be in one of these comps , but i fear once i come off i will never be able to reach the level again ...ruining the next 15 years running and having fun.

conclusion : wildboar and ned are legends.

definitely good for shooting the peasants , they had low to the ground one's to simulate rabbits and i seemed to be best at them , i only missed twice out of 12 shots at them , when i shot at the pigeon clays i missed completely with the first 10 or so shots then i got my eye in and by the end i was shooting on report which means they fire the second clay on the bang of your first shot , i hate to brag (not) but i was f**king good at it by the end . Come the zombie apoclypse i will confidently survive!

That is an amazing result at the hyrox event mate , i put it all down to turkesterone , I've just started on it again , and i'm sure it does something but like creatine its a bit marginal , I notice more of a benefit than i do from creatine though.

we are deffo legends ! we should meet up for a training session when the weather is better
I don't mind coming up your way as i want to use the motorbike more this year!

on another note have you seen any of shane Jermans recent youtube posts ? he's giving advice on steroid cycles for strongmen and strongwomen , part of me thinks well he's being honest so good on him but also part of me of me feels a bit uncomfortable about it (maybe cause i'm old)

Keep fighting the good fight mate , lets be the best 50 year olds in the uk!

deffo good for some sort of sesh , esp if you can motorbike roadtrip some of the distance !!

as for shane ... he is doing well , i honestly think you just have to front up , have the gift of the gab and fake it till you make it .... shane talking about gear is getting attention / clicks / subscribers which is why i think he is going down that path

however ...it seems the 2 x 8 week cycles a year with PCT is OUT and planning 20 SOLID f**kING years on the sauce and hoping you come out the other end alive is IN !!

yes mate i can come up on the bike , but not till its a bit warmer !

is that what they used to refer to as cruise and blast ? yeah fairplay to Shane , it's better than all these pricks on instagram pretending to be natural and selling training and nutrition advice!

had a s**tty cold for a couple of days so today was this weeks first training session :

pulling home made sled backwards loaded with 40k for 5 minutes
tibialis raises 2x25
atg split squat x25
atg front squat baarx3 40kx3 60kx3/3

3x3 minute rounds on the bags working 1,2 check hook 2,1
felt like i made a mini breakthrough today on footwork (emphasis on mini)

got told i was too old to spar on friday which knocked the wind out of my sails a bit , can't really see the point if you can't measure your improvement by sparring , was that f**ked off i didn't go monday . managed to get over myself and i've decided i'm just going to keep going and find somewhere else to spar even if i have to start my own "fight club" Grin
