Yeah but more importantly doubled 100 and done 105 for a PB.

They are retired then perhaps not binned.

I was strapped to the bar it was a double by anyones standards! I know you are just kidding though.

This week I need to stay injury free, make sure I'm recovered and make sure I am the correct weight!

I don't know. I'll check tomorrow morning at a guess I'm somehow between 85 and 89kg.

Didn't manage to get in a session over the weekend due to having my UKSCA assessment and leaving no time to prepare. Think I failed the PAS part, will see how the rest goes in a few weeks.

Today, worked up to planned openers for Sunday. Easy enough.

Sunday 23rd February - Scottish Open Weightlifting Championships @ Crossfit Glasgow

Weighed in at 2pm @ 84.66kg. Fueled and fed, lifted at 4.30pm. Plan coming in was to go 6/6 and make a good step towards British qualifying (245kg). Previous best total is 218 so wanted 230+ with 3rd attempts giving 235 total all going well.

Planned openers 97/120. 13 lifters in this group so potentially some waiting between lifts. Warm-up went to plan was happy with 92.5kg as a last lift before I went out but my coach wanted me to do 97.5kg and then open heavier. Wasn't really comfortable with this but ended up missing the 97.5kg and decided to open on 98kg instead.

Snatch :
  • 1st Attempt - 98kg - Went a bit soon but got it.
  • 2nd Attempt - 102kg - 2kg Comp PB snatch, bit pressed out but got it 2/1.
  • 3rd Attempt - 105kg - 5kg comp PB and equal training pb snatch. Best snatch out of the 3.



Clean and Jerk :
  • 1st Attempt - 120kg - Easy
  • 2nd Attempt - 125kg - Good
  • 3rd Attempt - 130kg - Good lift. Slightly pressed out, feel I was gifted this as they are usually quite hard on me! PB Clean and Jerk


105/130 for 235 total which is a 17kg total PB.

Comments :Pretty happy with how the day went. Coupled bombed out and ended up 2nd in the 85s. My training partner just missed out on a pressout with 132kg to beat me on bodyweight. Think it was less pressed out than my 130. Anyway planned acheived. Only 5kg per lift now to British Senior qualifying.
