Comments :Quick session today @ Glasgow Strength. 113kg is a sneaky 1kg PB. Hopefully can get 120 soon and translate it into a big clean and jerk.

Nice push pressing mate. Guess you don't usually train push press that often with your training being mainly oly lifting/ Or do you?

Thanks Rodger. Yeah I go through spells of training it but I'm going to keep it in as a staple now.

I'm sticking with power jerk as my competition lift so push press will be my primary assistance for it from now on. Just like power jerk is to split jerk.

Comments :Everything feeling really solid now! just a wee technical miss on the snatch but that would have been the heaviest snatch I'de done without straps.

Monday 25th August - Weightlifting @ The Garage

Muscle Snatch :
  • 40kg x3
  • 50kg x3
  • 60kg x3
  • 70kg x3


Low Hang Snatch :
  • 70kg x2, x2
  • 80kg x2
  • 85kg x2, x2
  • 90kg x2,
  • 95kg x2
  • 100kg x1 (Went a bit mental and tried a 2nd, it was forward right from lowering it as I rushed it. 1 was a PB anyway)


Squat :
  • 70kg x5
  • 90kg x3
  • 110kg x2
  • 130kg x2
  • 150kg x3
  • 170kg x5


Finished with some good mornings and SOTS (front) press.

Comments :Good session today. Hit everything I wanted. I'll upload some videos later.

Power Jerk :
  • 60kg x2

  • 110kg x1 (done 1 PP first up to this point)
  • 115kg x2
  • 120kg x2
  • 125kg x2, x2 (bit pressy)
  • 130kg x1 (pressed out)


Not happy with the 125kg and 130kg Power jerks, need to get rid of this pressing out nonsense!

5 Pullups / 10 Pressups / 15 BW Squats EMOM : 8 rounds

Comments :Decent enough really. Weights going up. 120kg were decent but heavier ones pressed out / soft so need to work on this. Training later at Scotstoun, should be a good one.
