Still doing GPC northerns? I'll likely be there in a non-lifting capacity Cheers mate, Yes that's the plan. Going to try squatting in a monolift hopefully very soon and provided I can get s semi decent squat I'll be entering for the full 3. If I can't get enough practice beforehand then I may just do bench/dead as I believe there is an option for that. 315 was a while ago, wouldn't get that unhitched I'll be looking to open with something conservative like 240 then probably 280/290 or 280/300. Will see how training goes over next couple of months, I don't feel strong right now at all!

‘downsizing’ Member 5704, 3347 posts SQ 280, BP 210, DL 320810.0 kgs @ 96.3kgs UnEq | Strength will return quickly after a break. I'd work up to openers around 2 weeks out - don't worry about any numbers yet.

I'm following a peaking program written for me by Aaron (AMH). Working range is between 65-95% of my 'everyday' max for 4 weeks and then 2 week and 1 week periods tapering off working on power and speed. Worked very well last time so I am repeating it with slightly higher numbers this time around. I'd be happy with a 700 total for my first meet.

Also - Don't do push/pull - you've got too good a squat. helpful to get a few sessions in a monolift but i didn't actually get to use one properly until ralls (had one at Genesis but I always trained solo there as I couldn't take time off to train with bulldog team in afternoon unfortunately)

I recommend the track - Slut Machine Member 6043, 957 posts SQ 350, BP 195, DL 350895.0 kgs @ 150kgs UnEq | Peak cycle planning I have decided to compete in 140+ as I walk around normally at about 140kg or just under. I know from last time I peaked that I will be pushing 143/144kg. As I am in the business of gaining experience and enjoying myself it seems stupid to stress myself and risk f**king it all up by trying to remain under 140kg whilst peaking. In the open 140+ Category the qualifying total for nationals is 660kg. I have 3 goals for the Northern qualifier:
Playing with figures this is what I'm thinking Openers: 220/140/240 to total 600 and ease myself in to each lift Second lift: 240/150/270 to total 660 Third lift: 255/160/285 to total 700

Water retention from increased food/sodium intake. Seriously, it may sound absurd to you but when you weigh this much a few kg is nothing. I could cut calories and sodium tomorrow and through nothing but water loss I could be 3kg lighter within a week. The work load for the peak is so high that for me to recover well enough to see progress I have to eat a considerable amount plain and simple. That said I will be trying to do it a bit cleaner this time around. I relied too much on convenient sources of food last time and ate out a lot. In actual fact I started off around 138 last time and ended up 142. After a week of restricted calories I was back under 140. I'm currently at 140 now as I've been eating a lot of pizza and drinking a lot of beer whilst not training a right lot. As it is too late to begin cutting some weight I anticipate I will weigh in at 143/144 in 2 months time hence the decision.

If I were to walk a few miles I would undoubtedly experience some degree of chafing however. It all started after a 180kg Zercher squat, it had never happened previously, as if someone just flicked a chafing on/off switch

I have found that wearing a belt hinders me for anything over a single rep as it crushes the wind out of me due to my crisp based Insulina gut. Therefore today I did doubles and triples beltless and it felt much easier than with a belt. Did some seated calf stuff in a pitiful attempt to achieve glorious Magnusson calf status however this will likely never happen loal
